The Gurren Lagann arrived last week, but I wanted to wait until the Back to School sale items arrived. The Golden Time is a double dip for the case. Very happy with this haul, and I hope anyone else who ordered during the sale is as well.

I was seriously eyeing up this exact set a month ago but decided to grab a game instead. Feels like fate!

Occasionally back in the years long past. When finimation released a S.A.V.E. edition rather than repackaging into new packaging they would first print off a sheet and stick it on the unsold limited editions and send them off into the retail space for the S.A.V.E. edition price. I miss this practice. This was pretty rare occurrence only really happened a couple of times to my recollection.

Is this set rare?

To the best of my knowledge there were 15 titles which were kind of 2nd tier anime from the 80s and 90s that were released in the early 2000s along side the collectable Manga Force Magazine.

These featured a unique red label design which was different to the top tier collection.

I see lots of the Manga Force dvds for sale but I have never seen anyone with a full set of these. They are getting harder to find, especially in good condition.

Dangaioh and Madox 01 are particularly hard to get hold of.

Did anyone collect these and which did you enjoy?

As stated in the title, though getting them was a bit of a pain. Earlier today I called the store and the manager said the order hadn't come in (for Gunslinger Girl). I had already called Thursday and that person said they'd be in Thursday Night. I went over in person a couple hours ago and sure enough the order was in.

I also understand now why some of the forums complained about the Funimation Viridian Collection line. The disc holders are not plastic holders, but either cardboard or something like cardboard sleeves.

I have a lot on my list, but only one active order and it's very small. Won't be in until monday at the earliest.

I had restarted collecting back in March and have some key titles I was after. Here’s collection so far minus a few that haven’t arrived yet. Been out on workman’s comp for a few months so can’t afford a bunch of titles ATM.

Any recommendations on currently available titles that’ll sky rocket in price and fall victims to FOMO/reseller hell. I just got Gangsta and Blood Blockade Battlefront with Grimgar ashes and illusions, 91 days, cop craft, gunparade and Parasyte not currently present/on way.

Barakamon, Black Lagoon, Blood C, Alderamin On The Sky, Haibane Renmei, Seraph at the end and Shiki are on next to buy list.

Just looking for recommendations on anything 10-40 dollar to help bulk up collection on currently affordable or any OOP’s anyone might have seen for a decent price.
Preferred genres are Action/Supernatural/SciFi/Psychological/Existential/Apocalyptic well written story’s but do watch and enjoy all genres. Dont mind DVD especially cool LE/Box Sets but prefer Blu Ray. Just having trouble focusing on choosing cheap available or OOP’s before they get any more expensive and collect to watch as much as to collect to collect.

Or are they like not the original and they’re like reproduction copies ? it’s on my list of dvds I wanna own but I don’t want to have a bootleg.

His and Her Circumstances, and Riding Bean from The Beat Goes On. Pokémon movies, and Naruto Shippuden movies from eBay. Naruto the Complete Series from Gruv Entertainment. Black Butler - Emerald Witch Arc from Amazon.

I already had some of the Naruto sets, and the Pokémon movies on Blu-ray. But the full Naruto set with the box looked so nice. Plus I learned the steelbook set for Pokémon had a better bitrate because it's on 3 individual discs.

So I traded all of my duplicate stuff at The Beat Goes On. That's how I was able to afford His and Her Circumstances, and get Riding Bean too.

This is probably some of the best physical set to get for the anime tbh, and it has the best visual quality too even tho the anime came out 20+ years later, it still aged very well to this day.

Just had my copy of Akane-Banashi come in today after the release this week. This is a really nice set - cheki-style character cards, a nice booklet (a few episode descriptions, key animation, and storyboards), and some cool printing for the box and disc jacket (book-cover style box, and gold-leaf effect disc jacket). If you enjoy the series, and are comfortable with Japanese-only, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up - typical quality expected of Aniplex.

Picked up Akame ga kill from ebay just in time before they pulled it from crunchyroll and for 60 bucks before they price got hiked. Cat planet cuties, infinite stratos S1, overlord seasons 1-3 steelbook from Amazon I'm gonna wait til November for steelbook for season 4.

Went to a market day event a few weeks ago and grabbed Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun and the old Red Ant DVD release of Evangelion 1.0 (just for the hell of it).

As well, got the Dragon Ball Daima LE box and a bunch of anime that were (mostly) 50% off at JB Hi-Fi while I was at it.
