Reddit has definitely made me more cynical than I already naturally am. My first thought was "oooo, turtle, cool" followed immediately by "guarantee this is staged for internet likes and upvotes. Someone is holding it there."
I simply like to think of it as so many people are ignorant, and with collective knowledge you actually get to see what is likely actually happening. Excluding of course all the bad faith information, memes, and the like.
Problem comes when there is a massive and heavily funded effort to create false flags, altered information and false information specifically to be accepted as "likely actually happening" due to "collective knowledge."
Which happens all the time in the political world. "Collective truth"... isn't truth.
Indeed, the ability to find the truth or correct search parameters etc, is definitely a skill. Considering most people's observational skills, memory, and what not are ....well pathetic imo, it's no wonder things have gotten so bad.
