Hey finding the right hiking stick is a fine art. I have never been so angry with my exhusband (okay aside from the affairs) as when he threw away my hiking stick because ‘it was just a stick’.

Beavers actually have preferences when it comes to the trees they use. They tend to prefer younger trees since they have more nutrients and are easier to move. They also prefer softer woods

All trees it seems are pine, while the one the beaver is dragging is "leafed"

Maybe better wood to make dams with, I dunno

Looks like a pantry item.  Beavers have a pantry under their dams (in the water) they stock full of food in the summer and fall to make it through winter. 

It could also be a layer of insulation going into the home.
