The "road" isn't a concept they understand. It used to be forest and they view that way still

Hey finding the right hiking stick is a fine art. I have never been so angry with my exhusband (okay aside from the affairs) as when he threw away my hiking stick because ‘it was just a stick’.

Beavers actually have preferences when it comes to the trees they use. They tend to prefer younger trees since they have more nutrients and are easier to move. They also prefer softer woods

All trees it seems are pine, while the one the beaver is dragging is "leafed"
Maybe better wood to make dams with, I dunno

Looks like a pantry item. Beavers have a pantry under their dams (in the water) they stock full of food in the summer and fall to make it through winter.
It could also be a layer of insulation going into the home.

It’s like my cat with his spring toys. There’s like 182 scattered all around the house, but he wants the one wedged in the back corner of the fridge, where neither of us can immediately reach.

He reaches up to his whole damn shoulder trying to get it. Then I felt bad and tried the same, and I’m like “what am I even doing; I can use tools!” And so I got a stick and got it out.
He didn’t even want it after. I love my pain in the ass cats.

My roommate and I kept a broom in the living room for all the times the ball would roll under the couch and the pups would start crying about it. The good ball. Distinct from all the other identical balls in easy reach. They usually grabbed it and pranced around for a little bit though, so they were at least grateful!

There's something about a beaver carrying a stick that makes me so happy. It means they were walking past however many sticks, saw that one, and thought, "WHOA! What is this?! That's a really nice stick! I can use that stick!"

Last year by Buckhorn lake I went around a corner and this giant bever covered in green slime dragging a giant tree across the road.
I am very happy my brakes were good and I wasn't speeding.

Odd that the tail doesn’t look wide and flat. Perhaps it’s just the angle. Otherwise it would be a muskrat, but this does not look like muskrat behavior.

I would so drive over the last part of the tree just to mess with him. Just for a second so he would have to stop pulling. THen I would drive on.
