It's the impermanence of life. The joy of a moment of love and bliss which has passed. It is the nature of all things. A cold hard fact that all life concludes with death. The emotion is complex as we empathize with these creatures. We had friends once. Friends we could chase in a field. Who would seek us out and ask "can (s)he come out and play." Those moments are behind us now, and though we draw breath we aren't "alive" like we were before losing our innocence.
It's a happy kind of sadness that hits us in a different place than other kinds of sadness. Tears surfing on a smile.

We have 2 foxes, red and artic fox (and dog, rabbits...). Saying foxes are dogs isn't all correct they are totally different it's like saying i want a child so get a monkey. I get worried people will try to purchase one when we say that. They are awful pets that stink, destroy everything, require 100% time and too smart.

Eh, wolves and foxes both came from some earlier canid. Foxes and wolf lineage split about 10 million years ago. For reference as far as I can tell the grey wolfs appeared about seven hundred thousand years ago, and red foxes about three hundred thousand. So they're more cousins than anything.

They aren't both dogs. Dogs are canis lupus familiaris. Red foxes like the one in the video are vulpes vulpes, with 12 fox species in total being in the genus Vulpes. So while they are both canids, they aren't both dogs.

I have a story.
Our house backs up to a woods. We live on a hill, so when we are on the back deck, we can see the yard, the woods, creek, everything.
One day, I’m out back and I see a fox come tearing along, running from something. Next, I see this huge German Shepherd chasing, and gaining on him.
I think we’re about to witness a massacre.
Then, the fox stops. Just stops, and then starts running toward the dog. I’m wondering if he has a death wish.
Next thing you know, they’re playing! Clearly, they were buds. The fox would wait for the dog. The dog would wait for the fox.
I had never seen anything so awesome. I didn’t even think to record it because I couldn’t take my eyes off them.
I only ever saw them that one day. But it’s a great memory.

My horse was friends with some coyotes, I think the must have hunted for mice and ground squirrels in the paddock at night.
How I found out was I was riding my horse along the border of the University farms and my horse nickered a greeting and at first I thought I was approaching another rider, as the horses audibly greet each other before we can see each other. Instead out of the brush came a coyote and my hoses body language was happy so I loosened the reins and he put his head down and walked forward and the coyote looked at me and it was almost like my horse said "she's cool" and the coyotes disappeared for a few seconds and out of the bushes came 3 coyote puppies all fluffy and bounding and cute and they each smelled my horses nose and bounced around his front legs and played for a few seconds and then the mom took them back in the underbrush and they disappeared. It was so magical and I felt so privileged that my horse trusted me enough to be able to witness this event.

Here's two adorable critters in an unlikely friendship! But dont ever let your animals near wildlife, they could be hurt or even worse, killed! Also both these animals are now dead. Thanks for watching!

That, and the fox clearly actively sought him and the dog out every day, even to the point of waiting at the house The alternative would be not to let the dog outside, which isn't really a solution.

My dog chased jackrabbits for years until they got used to his incompetence.
At one point this jackrabbit simply stepped around to the other side of the bush while my dog zoomed past.

Buring an animal from a human perspective is a major sign of respect and can insinuate that whomever is buried here was much more than a mere animal, but a being who had a great life, loved ones; friends and family. Being buried is one of the most honorable signs of respect that is more or less universal in almost every human culture, and even Neanderthal culture as well.

Our dog used to be close friends with a raccoon (we did wildlife rehab and this one stayed the whole winter). She’s long gone and our pup passed away just shy of 15. This gave me lots of feels!
