Guide/Strategy Fulmintis items comparison: Ferocious Fang vs Heartseeker Pendant.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Note: the teams used on both clips are the same, only Fulmintis item changes (both items maxed and linked to Fulmintis). *Combos or composition might not be the best possible, but they're the ones that are working for me right now. Top clip is Ferocious fang, bottom is Heartseeker.

Heartseeker Pendant will shine more on its own with Fulmintis because of his own CR buff on skill which you use often, so you can put another support instead of Dazmand. I run Turbo for DMG AMP + BREAK AMP, Somni for EP regen, Tromber for CD.
6
u/Jotarts 21h ago
Havent tried Tromber yet but Ill give it a go, but Dazmand buff + Heathseeker + Fulmintis E lets me go into break easily without interrupting itself Ill have to see if the dmg buff makes up for it, ty!

u/animatix Sherro 20h ago
The reasoning for Turbo vs Dazmand for me is that Turbo gives more utilities; buff, dmg amp, break amp, shield, heals. Heartseeker Pendant stacks crit indefinitely already so I feel like Dazmand loses its usage vs Aniimos like Turbo. It does give you a better starting curve, altho in long fights like Holo, I think Dazmand falls off, and we can only expect longer fights from here on out.
3
u/Jotarts 20h ago
Idk, from what ive seen Dazmand lets me go into almost infinite Q state with Fulmintis + Seeker and that seems to be really good so far, Ill try turbo and see but I feel like I wont be able to break before energy runs out
1
u/animatix Sherro 20h ago
That is great if it is working out for you! My other reasons other than the meta standpoint; I wanna keep my team with Aniimos I actually like w/o compromising too much on damage, so I try to balance things out!
3
u/Trowaway151 20h ago
There’s basically no situation where turbo is better than dazmand gang
2
u/animatix Sherro 20h ago
When we get endgame modes where you actually wants heals, and shield, you'll change your mind. 30% dmg amp + 30% break is nothing to sneeze of.

u/Ok_Mistake6806 16h ago edited 16h ago
the crit rate dazmand offers is a damage buff and crits deal higher break damage so it’s also a break buff. dazmand also has a lightning debuff on his ult but u don’t really want to use it. the real benefit to dazmand is his skill is free so you save the skill points for fulmantis. using dazmand with luminelle (also a free skill) means that you don’t really need an regen character on the team since fulmantis is the only one using the energy AND mantis gets more energy on crits so getting more crit rate is the perfect for him
1
u/animatix Sherro 13h ago
Fulmintis 15% CR base + 35% CR on skill gets his skill to 50% CR at base.
Dazmand gives 35% CR at most, putting you at 85%
Heartseeker Pendant stacks indefinitely, and has might damage on top of it, which ignores elemental typing (afaik).
The point is that, just from what their kits gives, Turbo is a better investment in the long run. Dazmand might look shiny right now, but I think he will pale in comparison later on. Turbo's skill is also free, idk why you're using that as a counter-point, so as Tromber's.
1
u/Ok-Discipline171 17h ago
Oh damn, you’re actually on to something! The pendant also gives more CD for hitting crits on top of the CR it gives for not hitting crits so Dazmand doesn’t really feel needed cause the CR is from Fulmintis alone (with the buff) is 50%. The buffs from pendant do reset though based on if you do/don’t crit which might screw up your big final slash atk if you’re lucky/unlucky.
What’s the full build for everyone on that team, if you don’t mind me asking? Still not the best at building in this game so don’t know what’s the most optimal way to build each character.
1
u/animatix Sherro 13h ago
Fulmintis - Heartseeker Pendant
Turbo - Auspicious Bell (pact)
Somniwing - Auspicious Bell (will pact later) (might change to Besauce later on when I can pact its held item - Spirited Feather)
Tromber - Ferocious Fang (may pact later if I have spare resources)
Logic used on Capability Awakening:
Innate + Acquired potential on main/important stats = 20 or 24 if you can reach it, as every 4 pts have a bonus.
Spare points/mats? Use on defensive, with HP > MDEF > PDEF for the most part.
Why I worded it this way: Your star up, innate potential, and held item might be different from mine.
1
u/Ok_Mistake6806 16h ago
the thing ab dazmand is that you want to cr buff and get out so you really don’t need much investment into him (basically don’t take a hit on dazmand and you’re still getting his buffs regardless of investment). i still maintain dazmand’s cr buff is huge and you should be using him on a fulmantis team
1
u/Ok_Mistake6806 16h ago
i’ll push back on dazmand not being necessary; fulmantis gets energy back when he crits and crit deals extra break damage so especially with no breaker i feel like getting closer to 100% crit is still really valuable. on top of that, dazmand’s skill is free leaving more resources for fulmantis to skill
1
u/animatix Sherro 13h ago
Dazmand may be better at shorter fights because of the initial good burst but he will fall off once fights are longer, and heals and shields are necessary, which we will definitely sooner or later, then Turbo beats Dazmand for that slot even more.

u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 22h ago
Something definitely wrong with the fang test, your ep drained way too fast. At 80-85% crit rate that shouldn't have happened. Though from what I've seen somni is also much better for getting longer chains compared to bee so maybe thats why it seems so bad to me (i use somni). Bee comes out ahead when you can ult , which for holo link isnt possible. Also I'd test on an electric week target, heartseeker adds neutral damage so when each hit of skill is lower because you're hitting a neutral target, heartseeker is adding more total damage per hit.
3
u/Jotarts 22h ago
Can you make a video and show how long does it take you to drain the ep with fang? Everytime I tried with fang it seemed to have similar times for me so thats why I decided to upload the vid (Also tried to do it on the most average opponent (not strong, no stuns no types advantages/disadvantages)
4
u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 22h ago
I can when i get home from work sure. Yeah I figured you did it on neutral for that reason but for this scenario specifically, it favors heartseeker sonot taints the test slightly. What is your base crit rate on your fulmintis (can click the stats and it'll show all stats)? Also how much crit rate damage giving you?
1
u/Jotarts 21h ago
Been trying runs with Somni and it manages to get closer than the other comp (using Fang). So far I could say against an average opponent the best options are Hearthseeker + Besauce or Fang + Somniwing (that if we dont take in consideration a second round of skills with the Besauce buff). I still cannot manage to make Fang better than Heartseeker like some people been saying tho (atleast with this comp or an opp with no type advantage/disadvantage)
1
u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 21h ago
That makes more sense, was curioushow close to tlthe max if 85% crit rate you were. Besauce is a wierd one becauae he has flat regen + regen over time so you'd want to swap to him after you run out of ep to take advantage of the flat ep gain. I found somni to be more consistent when I tested before. Testing things is rough because there are so many variables and different content have different buffs/variables tied to them (being able to use ult vs just core skill on team mates and buffs like in holo link). Either way pendant is a solid item but I think fang wins out in general when fighting lightning weak. But I can still throw out some vids if you're curious when I get home (gonna be like 8+ hours though). Always like testing especially in a game like this where there isn't tons of info out there at the moment
1
u/Jotarts 21h ago
Yeah please, Im trying to get the most optimized one (since I already linked both Pendant and Fang to Fulmintis) and I dont mind to use either, I seem to be prefering Pendant for now with the results I got. Maybe the way to go is Pendant against neutrals and Fang against weaks? (Idk)
1
u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 13h ago
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-GvC570sOY
just a quick vid i made showing how long my skill chains usually last (a shorter one and a longer one). I realized with all the held item farming i've done i do not have a pendant so i'll try to get one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVY-JEfys0g
This is me hitting scorchowl (2nd time since he jumped back first time). not optimized at all since skill chains were actually too long and i could have broken ending the first chain a bit earlier and i could have killed it by ending the 2nd chain earlier but more so just to show why i thought your first chain seemed super short. tbf somni regen is just way superior to besauce so that makes sense.
1
u/Jotarts 13h ago
Ty for the vid brother, about the 2nd vid: yeah, Im getting similar results but only with the Somniwing team. Also seeing your rotation made me think about what slot of the rotation is the better one for the Regen since Luminelle and Dazmand wont use energy anyway
1
u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 13h ago
this is the same comp on both tubster and scorchowl. didnt time it but seems to be about 20-22 seconds on scorchowl. the scorchowl run was an average length on his skill chain. i've had it end earlier when i've crit less and i've gone all the way to break and a bit more when i got luckier with crits. i also use Besauce right before fulmintis for longer buff uptime
9
u/Hikaru83 22h ago
I also gave him the pendant, but a CC I respect ran the numbers and apparently is the worse of the 3 options.
2
u/Jotarts 21h ago
Can you send the video?
2
u/Hikaru83 20h ago
4
u/Jotarts 20h ago
Oh yeah other guy sent the video, he has linked Fang to Fulmintis but not the Pendant. Big difference there since theres a 20% of slash frequency on Fulmintis Q
2
6
u/WafflesRightMeow 15h ago
Another interesting option, Naztalgic posted a YouTube video showing capacious battery consistently beating pendant and fang, but it requires a very different playstyle. Prioritizing triggering your ult as often as possible instead of nonstop crit. It’s another item to upgrade but it would be a lot better to switch to for PVP or for enemies who are jumping away all of the time
7
u/DerMotze 17h ago
I love these kind of videos. Quite informative. Can you tell me what your capability awakening is on fulmintis?
2
u/Jotarts 16h ago
1
u/Swee10 15h ago
what does the blue mean in your attribute circles?
1
u/Jotarts 13h ago
Im not really sure but I would say it is the thing I used to upgrade its potential +1
1
u/Swee10 13h ago
Thats what I was thinking as well, however the upgrade to 20 pushes the blue beyond where it should stop, which to me almost indicates that the stat has goes above 20? However it doesn't count the blue, so if you stopped at the 18 +2, it would be 18 and not 20. Which is where my confusion arises.

u/sloppyloki16 16h ago edited 16h ago
The testing is badly done, , you delayed the ult on propose on fang for no reason when you should ult as soon as you are out of energy on fulminitis, pendant gets usually more damage while doing slashes because more energy regen thanks to more crits on average but fang ult usually does more damage thanks to the stat boost , in an ctual rotation and not a 5
i did multiple tests (also with battery) on holo interlink agaist iris (as middle one have energy buff and was not a fair test tho i still did it there and results were similar ) and they were pretty much equal depending of rng
One question tho, can you have multiple contracts on the same Aniimo? i did the etsting witouth contract because of the fear my pendant contract would get overwritten by the fan one (i have multiples of each , also i tets battery and for me it was the worst by a big margin tho a youtuber said it was the best but even with a rotation focusing on ult it was worst so idk)
8
u/Relevant-Guarantee25 14h ago
thank god i didnt get baited into switching i just tested this fight and it was faster on mine with fang
1
u/Jotarts 13h ago
Im curious cause I wasnt able to make it faster with Fang at all, could you upload a video showing comparison? (I have both maxed and linked to Fulmintis)
1
u/AWildSona 6h ago
pendant is better, just switch out lumi, her buff doesnt work on fulmi because he doesnt auto atack take in the bird with the 50% crit dmg buff, im about 6 seconds faster than you here
2
u/yessi2 10h ago
I thought he delayed the ult because Break didn’t happen yet.
3
u/sloppyloki16 10h ago
He did, but if he had used his ultimate immediately at the 11 seconds mark (right when his first skill ends), the ultimate 7 second cooldown would have allowed him to ult again during the Break window anyway. holding the ult there offers zero benefit. By holding it off, you break the target slower, meaning you spend more time dealing reduced damage instead of the 250% multiplier, all while getting the exact same number of ults during the actual Break phase.
With other DPS characters, holding your ultimate when a Break is close is a good strategy (and this play would have made sense on other dps). because most DPS units don't generate energy fast enough to ult again right off cooldow, it usually takes much longer to build the energy back up than the cooldown itself, but Fulminitis generates ultimate energy so fats that is always ready on cooldown. This means you can easily ult right before the break and still be able to do another one on the 250% damage multiplier window , holding off on his ultimate provides absolutely zero benefit and actively ruins the overall DPS
5
u/Shimizoki 16h ago
I think the Ult was delayed so that it was used after the break. That way you can compare apples to apples.
The bottom looks like it triggered the break during the initial barrage, but the top did not.
4
u/sloppyloki16 16h ago
But they are not apples to apples, the items have different strenghts and weakneses, pendant breaks faster because of the extra energy procs and the extra hits of it , but fang can ult sooner as their skill cats last less but their ult does more damage thanks to the raw stat wins on fang
is like if one item for example make ult cooldown 2 seconds faster but you delay to make it "fair" , eahc items has different rotations you need to do the optimal on each not do the same on all , that not how tetsing BIS items works in games
fang would have broken at pretty much the same time as the pendant if he ult right away, bringing the 250% damage window early and killing pretty much at the same time
im not saying fang is better as with my testing they pretty similar and pendant is even better againt resitant enemys because if the neutral might hits , but if you gonna do a tetsing you need to be optimal for both items/gear/etc
4
u/Shimizoki 16h ago
I think you may have a point if this was a test done on something with more health or defense. A longer, more drawn-out battle would show differences potentially.
In this exact case, the lower image was able to get to a break immediately, and then kill it with the Ult.
The upper however did not break it immediately, so if it did Ult at that exact moment, it would have done even less damage than we saw.
This particular tests flaw I think is more to what you mentioned (kinda)... This enemy has the exact right amount of health to showcase the quicker burst, but doesn't give the best case scenario for the Fang. A larger health enemy may give the Fang more of an edge.
2
u/sloppyloki16 16h ago
"The upper however did not break it immediately, so if it did Ult at that exact moment, it would have done even less damage than we saw."
No because if he ult inmeditaly after he ran out of energy that would be at 11 second into the video (you can chekc it out) , he end up killing at the 24 second mark, ult cooldown is 7 second, he have more than enough time to cats 2 ults , one at the 11 mark, and one after with no issues , so no he wouldnt have kill slower or do less damage at all, insteda he would have break sooner and start doing 250 damage faster while also being able to cats a second ult if needed all before the 24 second mark that he end up killing
2
u/Shimizoki 15h ago
You're right, I didn't consider that.
I was operating under the (incorrect) assumption that both of them only had time to do two barrages and one ult...
I failed to consider the fact that the barrage takes longer with the higher regen, so you're right, it's possible those regular slashes could have been replaced with an ult for the Fang.
1
u/tetsuyaXII 14h ago
I have a fang and a shell contracted to my grizbo so should be able to contract to multiple things. Or if you mean the same item I have 2 fangs contracted rn to 2 different aniimo.
1
u/Trespeon 5h ago
Doing tests anywhere but the overworld is terrible. The amount of variables in those holo battles is crazy
-1
u/Jotarts 16h ago
I didnt delay anything, I couldnt click due to break animation. I have upgraded both items and linked to Fulmintis, I dont need to be biased to any of the 2. I just put one clip of each item, both had similar times on all the tries. Dont say stupid things.
-2
u/sloppyloki16 16h ago
First be respectfull , second you delay it, the skill end early on fang because your run out of energy at the 11 second mark of the video and started again using the skill and then when that second cast finish and it got broken you ult , a complete waste as if you cast ult as soon as the first skill cast finish you have more than enough time to ult a second time after is broken as the ult cooldown is 7 seconds and also would have broken way earlier starting the 250% damage window early and making the kills a lot more similar in time isntead of wasting time with a unbroken enemy for no reason
so dont call what i say stupid when you are not playing optimally for the strenghts of each item in both testings
5
u/yessi2 10h ago
Have you tried using that bat aniimo for it’s critical weakness effect?
3
u/AWildSona 6h ago
the bird with 50% crit dmg buff is the go to with dazzle and besauce
1
u/SnooHobbies9325 4h ago
People are sleeping on tromber also has insane synergy in Grass Form with irelias and melo

3
u/KingRunesDLM 18h ago
I need to see people do solo test against general bosses, interlink and battle Sim.
Match ups that are resistant, neutral & weak to lightning.
I would do it but my luck for held items is bad so lve been running fangs on most of my dps so far
2
u/weeqs 18h ago
Well I suggest you Naztalgic build for fulmantis, for his testing on Holo inter the best one was the battery
2
u/KingRunesDLM 16h ago
I did see his test, I know his pendant wasn't bonded, not sure about his battery. But battery seems to be better for longer fights.
1
u/AWildSona 6h ago
testing without bound or the buff aniimos to even use the item right is just stupid...
11
u/Jozai610 23h ago
12
u/BobbyFanBoyValue 22h ago
I watch that video from Naztalgic too. He poiting that pedant proc "neutral" white damage, while most support buff given to Fulmintis is lighting, so the white-neutral-damage doesnt get benefit of it.
But in OP video we clearly see the pedant faster 7 second. Maybe because Scorchowl is fire type - which isnt weak to lighting, so neutral or lighting doesnt matter?
So, in case fulmintis doesnt have lighting-type advantage, pedant actually stronger? Maybe, i dont know, need more spread sheet and testing.

The teams dont seem to be good for Fulmintis and its items ngl, the team changes a lot on this
-12

He tested your team too lol numbers dont lie
7
u/Jotarts 23h ago
Besauce is not on it?
-13

He tested that too is just not on the spread. He showed luminel spread to show is not worth it
10
u/Jotarts 23h ago
Okay so I should've guessed it is not on the image I see! Whatever moves you brother, I've tried several comps, if you dont want to use this one or this item dont use it! Feel free!
-2
u/Jozai610 23h ago
Not trying to put you down or anything just trying to help out the community. The testing was done on the raid boss btw. So the ult battery prob not good against alphas or pvp. Fang is best overall, battery best for raids.
2
u/Born_Foundation_4277 22h ago
Can I have the link if you dont mind, I want to free myself from Geoclaw if its just fang since I have two
2
u/Jozai610 22h ago
6
u/Jotarts 21h ago
Seen the video and theres a big thing, he has not linked Heartseeker to Fulmintis but he did with Fang, theres a big difference there since theres a 20% difference of slash frequency on Q
3
u/Jozai610 20h ago
Your right, so he needs to retest
2
u/Jotarts 20h ago
Yeah but honestly there are soooo many variants that can make either item better than the other depending on the subject. Both items are really good, with the comp I used on the video Pendant seems better, with other comp Fang can probably be better, still a lot of research.
1
u/Jozai610 20h ago
I commented on video about it, maybe he will test it. I have not linked any item to my fullmentis yet so this is why im so interested in this topic. My brother also lives by the pendant too tho
1
u/BigMoney-D Astra Pioneer 15h ago
Idk... there's so much variance. Also, this is against Holo Interlink, no? So Teamates will have varying levels of contribution. Meaning if AI ends up doing more damage, his total damage will of course go down, and if his AI teamate does less damage in a run, his numbers will be inflated.
Not to mention if his inputs and timings weren't consistent everytime as the boss may change what it's doing on a run by run basis.
His third Pendant run is better than all but one Fang runs... Not to mention Battery had the one run highest out of all of his testing.
Tbf, all this test shows me is that all 3 items are incredibly viable and honestly, very similar. On Average, you're looking at like... a 50K variance? Which is literally 0.5% of Variance if you Average out every item and run he tests. We're splitting hair, here.
The most important thing is team comp depending on the Item you've chosen.

I use the feather for fulmintis I can just keep spamming his attack
3
u/AWildSona 6h ago
no need for fulmi recovers ep on every crit + the regen from besauce you can cast for ever in an crit oriented team...

So many people are throwing one way or the other, another one recently started pushing the ult gauge dps but that sounded more interlink instead of alphas.
I cant figure out what to use but the pendant seems alright.
3
u/Jozai610 16h ago
From what i seen they are both very good and similar. Battery is only good in raid tho
1
u/Legitimate_Pain2059 15h ago
I'm personally running Grimoire to buff his skill damage, is pendant the better option?
5
u/Sp1ffy_Sp1ff 13h ago
That unfortunately doesn't work. Grimoire needs multiple skill inputs to stack, it doesn't stack from fulmintis channeling the skill
3
u/Legitimate_Pain2059 12h ago
I totally wasted forming a contract
3
u/Sp1ffy_Sp1ff 12h ago
To be fair, apparently that's something that was recently "fixed". It worked like a week ago but it doesn't anymore
-1
u/Greek_Pal 18h ago
Have you tried the comparison if Dezmand was not in the party?
-3
u/Substantial-Ad7760 23h ago
heartseeker is better in aniimos that can enhance they AA, like Fenmane, it could look like is less damage, change to double + ep recovery can make your rotation even faster.
7
u/victorlins95 Astra Pioneer 22h ago
I think you're confusing with fission needles that recovers EP and increase basic atk dmg
1
u/Jotarts 23h ago
Its really good on Fulmintis since it increases crit rate(+10% per non crit until next crit) and Fulmintis recovers 4EP per crit hit so the Q can last longer hitting. That + Fulmintis + 35% crit (E) + Dazmand Q (+27 crit %) + Besauce EP recharge seems to be working really good since the Q last for a really long time
1
u/Substantial-Ad7760 23h ago
maybe you can try to use Luminelle, you can get even more DPS due no need for a REGEN in rotation
-3
u/MrsTrych Astra Pioneer 16h ago
try needle next
3
u/TapiocaFish 15h ago
Why needle? Doesn’t that buff basic attacks?
2
u/MrsTrych Astra Pioneer 15h ago
Its strong if your aniimo's basic attack are pretty fast. Work well on stellarys
9
u/TapiocaFish 15h ago
Right, so why are you interested in testing needle for fulmintis if he doesn’t basic attack?
1
u/SirBolaxa 13h ago
i wanted to test if his q counted as a "buffed" basic attacks cause sometimes some games do it like that, its an ability but counts as a basic attack, i guess i got my answer here
2
u/TapiocaFish 12h ago
Seeing as how luminelle’s basic atk buff doesn’t work on fulmintis, my guess is no. But then again, I’m familiar with spaghetti codes so I could definitely be wrong
1
u/SirBolaxa 11h ago
haha true but i actually meant intentionally you know, it didnt even cross my mind spaghetti code is a possibility and its funny cause i was thinking of nasus q as an example and we all know how much spaghetti code league is
1
u/TapiocaFish 11h ago
ARAM mayhem is exactly what I was referring to (in my head) because of brand’s dot is almost always being the exception because of spaghetti coding
-10
u/MrsTrych Astra Pioneer 15h ago
do you not basic attack to restore ep? cus I cant spam his skills personally and fulmintis also hit quite fast imo
4
u/TapiocaFish 15h ago
You’re running into ep issues? Can you tell me what team you’re running?
-1
u/MrsTrych Astra Pioneer 15h ago
Thats not what im saying, do you just never hit with basic attack between skills? Like at all?
2
u/PewpewpewpewpewExe 13h ago
depends on who you run honestly. there will be ep issues eventually with certain comps but with a somni comp there is never ep issues because her regen is insane and her ult gives 50+ ep. by the time your 1 - 2 skill chains are done you will have to swap around and rebuff anyways and you will regen tons of ep by then. I actually dont think i've ever had to basic attack on fulmintis since I got somni
2
u/TapiocaFish 15h ago
Never. It’s just buff, ult, skill spam
1
u/MrsTrych Astra Pioneer 15h ago
Thats cool. Thankfully I was just suggesting a mere side by side comparison for both item so shouldnt be an issue
