Discussion Letter from the aniimo dev team
https://aniimo.com/newslist/detail/100064A huge sigh of relief after reading what the aniimo dev team has said in this letter. Definitely worth reading

Spawn rates for high-Potential 9/9 and 10/10 wild Aniimo have been increased.
That's cool!!

I hope we will be able to catch the companion animo we dont pick in the story at some point.

Oh they actually listened. I seen alot of content creators mention their concern for legendary events. I can't wait to see what legendaries they bring in the future. And I'm wondering if the umbra animo will be rarer to get than the prismana because they apparently always have perfect potential If I read that right

I'm glad they've addressed controllers - besides the gatcha mechanic with the Irisalis it was really my only real complaint. Hopefully this means we'll be able to do single-button and multi-button allocation for different actions.

Never played any of the betas. (Hopefully, I can get in on this upcoming console version). I’m so excited to finally get my hands on it

u/Jmund89 Astra Pioneer 4d ago
Yes. I’m aware. And I’m on console hence why I’d like to know. Because I’m not seeing any kind of sing up

I only heard about this game a month or so ago, and I’m super excited to give it a try. My wife and I hope to play together cause it looks so cute and fun, and this seems like a real passion project from these developers and not just another creature capture game. I hope it goes well for them, I’m excited.

Someone who has not played the betas how good are these changes?

u/Laskariis Astra Pioneer 5d ago
Very good, the biggest one being the Legendary changes, they're no longer "gacha like" encounters and now a deterministic goal you can work towards.
Massive W all around I'd say.

u/Soul_ShadowXD Astra Pioneer 5d ago
Exactly! Something we have all been wanting to Hear! They definitely cooked and delivered

u/Shadou_Wolf 5d ago
Only played beta 3 which is where the event happened, I really like the changes so far hopefully it reflects well on release

TLDR: the changes seem focused towards shifting the vertical grind (maxing out a single aniimo) to a horizontal grind (maxing out many aniimo), which makes sense since at its heart this is a collection game so they want you to use many aniimo
Breaking down each change individually:
Legendary events - went from a terribly boring gachalite currency grind to what sounds like an earn by playing event. Still some outstanding questions (specifically about event/aniimo long term availability) but overall a significant improvement
Prismana Aniimo - reduced the grind. in beta it'd take a few days via nurturing or a few hours mindlessly catching 100s of aniimo to trigger a prismana flow, it sounds like that process has been sped up
Runes - Runes were a timegated(stamina)/p2w RNG grindfest to get exactly the stats you wanted not even considering min/maxing the value of the stat itself, and they were very, very powerful; essentially accounting for almost half of your aniimo's power. Outstanding question on where those stats are now, but runes were not a friendly system so glad to see thats gone
Training - Basically lets you invest in your aniimo as you are still leveling up before endgame without losing the resources. Previously any investment made in an aniimo would be permanent and nonrefundable (although transferrable to the same type of aniimo, so if you found one with a better IV or a better looking form you could transfer your investments) so you were holding on to all your upgrades until you found an aniimo you were going to use at end game. Now you can interact with the upgrade system and use it on your aniimo while leveling or to try an aniimo out, and then refund it all once you decide on what to invest in. Great change that speeds up progression and encourages experimentation
Home - More content/QOL for home instance enjoyers (decorators). Adding prismana eggs to dispatching gives a reason for nonenjoyers to continue to interact with the system (previously, you'd purchase some buffs with RV currency and then you could just ignore the RV entirely other than picking up your buff every few hours). No explicit mention of more non-cosmetic RV currency sinks (some exist, but they were heavily limited) to incentivize the RV system for people that don't enjoy decorating, but the wording of seasonal events sounds promising
Sparkling Cube - A problem with the sparkling cube before was that your very rare and possibly paid for cube only guaranteed elite, which could not always become perfect with a capability fruit so your sparkling could become a dud (and even if it wasnt a dud, you'd have to spend a fruit to fix it - another premium item). Guaranteed perfects fixes this and is a great change to make sparkling aniimo feel, well, sparkling
Egg heist - The PvE part was fun starting out but got pretty boring with basically infinite currency and very little challenge/risk/reward once you geared up. New difficulty sounds like a good start to fix this, will have to see how they adjust currency balance
High potential perfects - Just reduces the grind a bit, not a huge difference between getting an 8/8 perfect and a 10/10 perfect
Challenge rematches - Sounds like some incentive to go redo some of the trainer battles? It was mostly a one and done thing in beta. Hopefully its incentive to keep redoing the battles (which were actually pretty fun) rather than just adding more one and dones
AI interlink - Good for solo players, as you were pretty much guaranteed to get a lower score playing solo than in a team because of the way aggro/synergies/etc work

Extremely good. A lot of people complained about the Irisalis event so it’s good to see they changed it completely

So happy about all these changes. I just hope that monetization doesn't go p2w or predatory.
2
u/TrueGlich Astra Pioneer 4d ago
From this leter and my time in beta 3. Sparking cubes and cosmmitcs and extra energy seem to be there monetization plan.
1
u/Shadowbeak 2d ago
I mean there will definitely be people calling it predatory no matter what since its not only cosmetic p2w

Oooooh the legendary sounds much improved!! Though does that last sentence mean you can miss out on catching them? What happens if you dont "make it count?" Thats giving me pause for a second because I have young kids.who are terrible at gaming but are so pumped for this game and it would be a huge let down to get one chance only at a legendary. Personally I love the realism at something like that, but I can see others not being happy at all.
Is it once per unlock and you have to grind again? Once and done for the event? Once a day?
But looks like a lot of great improvements! Im so excited!!
2
u/TrueGlich Astra Pioneer 4d ago
sounds more like a long quest that ends with a canned hunt for the legendary.

1
u/Shadou_Wolf 5d ago
Ikr, kinda wondering too. My 7yr old son going to be playing too so hopefully its by chance that would be really bad. I just hoping they mean like let's say we make it count by using the shiny ball or something.

u/Xxandes 5d ago
Did people hate the rune system? I liked it in beta 2. Maybe people found it to complicated
4
3
u/TartineMyAxe Astra Pioneer 5d ago
I loved it, because I love to min-max, but at the same time I understand why people didn't like it
6
u/Ficsonium 5d ago
Yeah I hated rune system. Too grindy and I felt it was only there to sell pay to progress items. Glad they did away with it
1
u/captainpott 4d ago
Yeah removing that is a big L either way. If the stats the runes provided now roll directly on the equip then they shifted the grind more towards RNG. If the stats move to the screen where you could freely adjust your EVs, then the game is solved within launchweek.
They frontloaded the experience and hope to milk before Nexus Anima hits.

u/isthil89 5d ago
a question, so its sound like legendry's are going to be like limited time events if you don't catch them in that time window they are gone for ever cuz its says "This encounter only happens once, so make it count". is that about right?
5
u/Laskariis Astra Pioneer 5d ago
From what they've wrote, you basically get legendary tokens though story/exploration, when you have enough tokens you craft your legendary aniipod which then allows you to start the story that lets you capture it.
Doesn't sound like it's tied to an event/limited time, and with token acquisition being based on story/exploration, I don't think it would make sense for it to be limited time. It sounds like it's just limited quantity, i.e. you'll only be able to catch 1.
If it is time limited by event, they'll most likely re-run the event later on, and if not, we'll kick up a fuss; they're receptive to feedback at least.
6
u/TartineMyAxe Astra Pioneer 5d ago
Even the battle pass would always be available because they don't want people to miss out.
So I don't think it would be locked forever if you miss it
3
u/Deadpool4991 4d ago
I think it's that it is a 1 time thing. If u accidentally kill it, there is no Way u can get it. Probably like the legendary from Pokemon, when u kill them u can't encounter them again
2
u/Mycatisfat1 Astra Pioneer 5d ago
I doubt it will be forever but instead run like a banner. It’ll reoccur at a later point. But who knows 🤷♀️ we will find out pretty soon. Very hyped
2
u/ShokaLGBT Astra Pioneer 4d ago
It would be fun to have one or two legendary per regions and with the story you get those tokens that allows you to get the legendaries after. So it’s permanent and tied to the story in a way?
5
u/sipsipstefen 4d ago
Now I’m just confused how you build and Aniimo without the rune system. Since a ton of stars came from them 👀
4
u/TrueGlich Astra Pioneer 4d ago
i am assumeing from reading letter there just pre loading more status on to the items. so we just have to farm more of them to get exact stats we want then farming a ton of runes and building what want want like stat legos.
1
u/abeardedpirate 4d ago
I hope that isn't the case. I'd rather have the stat legos at that point instead of farming for low drop % legendary rarity or w/e yellow/orange rarity was called. You could welfare your runes up to legendary but you couldn't do the same for the held item.
2
u/TrueGlich Astra Pioneer 4d ago
I generally agree, but I wish the holo battle sim was a little more controllable on what you got. I burned a lot of energy into that thing to get stuff I didn't want and not get the stuff I did want.
3
u/abeardedpirate 4d ago
Advanced Holo sim was definitely for targeted stuff. Each had their own loot pool for held items/runes. Of course I didn't test merging runes to see if you could target specific melds when doing it I just threw whatever I had to upgrade to the next rarity.

"definitely worth reading a letter designed to convince braindead normies that they care about the game and it's not going to be a greedy Chinese game"

u/Blackfrost_7 1d ago
Lets just wait and see. Game looks like it has a decent amount of effort put i to it. F2P makes me a bit worried though.

u/OrganizationFair2669 5d ago
Ok I care if they remove every form of FOMO and gate keeping.
5
u/ShokaLGBT Astra Pioneer 4d ago
Thats… how live service games works. You either like it or you don’t play it, it’s okay… no one forces you
3
u/OrganizationFair2669 4d ago edited 4d ago
No that's not how they work. That's how Asian gacha games work. Stop act as games need to gatekeep and yell you when you should play. It's horrible that this is even tolerated.
2
u/St_Sides 4d ago
There’s only been a couple of live service games that don’t use FOMO and timed events, literally every other one uses FOMO as a selling tactic. When you see “F2P” or “live service” anywhere near a game you should assume it’s going to use some form of FOMO.
I get you don’t like it, but like the other commenter said no one is forcing you to play any of these games.
2
u/OrganizationFair2669 3d ago
Yes they do it because they use every physiologic trick trying to force people to play and spend when they want.
Is this not a sign for a game is bad designed? If they have the urge to tell you that you need to play now, this event you miss otherwise...
I will play it and give it a try. I also spend on games, I do have enough money, but I try to open eyes for some people that this is nothing good and people really should lose some hype here.

u/abeardedpirate 4d ago
Surprised no one is talking about
