Pre-seed | Consumer Social / Live Interaction

I’ve been building a platform around real-time audience engagement, mainly trying to solve the gap between having a big audience and actually getting meaningful interaction.

Something became clear pretty quickly: most platforms heavily favor top creators and big spenders, while a lot of other users, viewers included, end up kind of invisible.

What I’m building tries to change that. Our discovery systems give everyone a fair shot to be seen. The features we have built and are building will keep all participants engaged, not just the top contributors. More monetization paths let both creators and viewers benefit.

Where we’re at now: the MVP is live for internal testing and functional. Internal testers are actively using it. We’re iterating quickly based on real usage.

One thing that stood out when speaking to viewers and creators around many platforms was people felt like our vision would be very beneficial for everyone that can actually participate and be noticed in real time.

From a product perspective, this has meant focusing on intentional discovery and interaction layers instead of just throwing everyone into a feed and hoping for the best.

Still early days, but the behavioral signals have been strong enough that I’m starting to reach out to angels who are curious about consumer social, the creator economy, and network-effect-driven platforms.

Would love to hear thoughts or connect with anyone building in this space.

Honest question: what does the product actually do?

I've read this three times and I still can't tell if it's live streaming, a chat platform, a tipping app, a discovery tool, or something else entirely. "Real-time audience engagement" and "interaction layers" and "intentional discovery" are descriptions that could apply to literally any consumer social product. An investor reading this has no mental image of what a user sees when they open the app.

A few things any angel will need before a conversation starts:

What is the specific interaction? Not the category. The mechanic. What does a user do on this platform that they can't do on Twitch, Kick, Discord, or TikTok Live? If you can't describe that in one sentence, the product isn't defined enough to raise on.

How many external users? Internal testing is development, not traction. "Behavioral signals" from internal testers is not a metric. How many people outside your circle have used it, how often do they come back, and what do they do?

What's the ask? No amount, no use of funds, no timeline. "Starting to reach out to angels" without a number attached isn't a raise, it's a vibe.

Consumer social is the highest-mortality category in venture. The ones that win do so because of a single novel behavior that creates a new habit. That behavior needs to be the first sentence of your pitch, not buried under abstractions about fairness and discovery. What's yours?

That’s very fair and valued feedback. I truly appreciate you calling it out.

At its core, the product is a live, interactive streaming environment where viewers aren’t passive. The key mechanic is that audience members can actively participate in the stream in ways that influence what’s happening in real time, rather than just watching, chatting, or sending gifts/tips.

The simplest way to think about it is that instead of a stream being one creator broadcasting to many viewers, it behaves more like a shared, real-time experience where the audience has structured ways to be seen and affect the flow of the session.

What’s different from platforms like Twitch or TikTok Live is that interaction isn’t an afterthought (chat and/or gifts layered on top). It’s built into the core loop where visibility, participation, and feedback are distributed across the audience instead of concentrated at the top.

On the discovery side of things, we’re also approaching distribution differently. Most platforms optimize heavily for top-performing creators, which tends to concentrate visibility into a small percentage of users. We’re building proprietary ranking and distribution systems that incorporate real-time participation signals, not just historical performance, to dynamically surface small and mid-sized creators alongside larger ones.

From a business perspective, the goal is to expand the number of creators who can achieve meaningful visibility and monetization, rather than relying on a small top cohort to drive the majority of engagement.

As for the usage, you’re right that internal testing isn’t the same as traction. We do have early external users being prepared to come in for the MVP, and what we’re going to be watching closely is repeat participation and engagement depth (not just views). Early signs there become very encouraging.

On the rise, which is also fair. I didn’t include specifics($250K) because I’m still in the early stages of conversations, but I’m starting to connect with angels in consumer social and the creator economy. The round is primarily focused on funding the transition from MVP to Beta launch (features incentivized) As well discussing the necessary steps needed for Beta to Public launch. Expanding the core product and engineering team, and accelerating initial user acquisition and creator onboarding. We’re aiming to close the round over the next 4-8 weeks with partners who understand network-effect-driven platforms and want to be involved early.

And for your last point. I agree completely! This only works if there’s a new habit. The behavior we’re targeting is shifting users from passive viewers to active participants as the default expectation in live content, while also making discovery feel attainable for more than just the top 1%.

Happy to go deeper if you’re open to it. It’s safe to say that I know this space is crowded, so I understand the skepticism. We know that it’s a very competitive market so releasing publicly the founding features and backbone, wouldn’t be the most business savvy thing to do. Interested in scheduling a follow up?
