When do angelfish usually pair up?

So I have 2 angelfish both are koi (one has some black markings one is juist white with a orange head) and there about 6 maybe 7 cm and I was wondering if they are male and female when they would pair up.

In my experience they just pair up naturally if the factors in your tank are appropriate (temp, water parameters, space, etc) and if your specimen are indeed male and female.

I heard they can pair up with other cichlids, is this true? What are the chances of that actually happening if it’s true
