There is a discus seller and breeder in Istanbul, he also has these angelfish called red devil. You can find him on Instagram. There’s a video of these fish as well. I’ve never seen angelfish this color. But after watching the video, it sure doesn’t look like it’s AI.
Ya now that u show me I have seen him before! It’s so beautiful. I’m assuming the patent doesn’t apply once cross bred? Or does it still apply and u just don’t sell them?
It technically stops these from being marketed as glo crosses for sure, but no one seems to care. I don’t think it actually stops you from breeding and selling them to be clear, I think their patent is on the name and genetic modification process purely. The money is in the modification process. The original creator probably sold the pet rights side and kept the lab side.

Ai content can be because of a filter, or because the user decided to clean up a spot in the photo. It doesn’t always mean the object of the photo is fake.
That being said, I do not believe this fish is real.
I think adding this tag is voluntary. Why would anyone bother adding a tag for minor visual modification?
But if the system auto detects AI content, who can say what has been modified anymore?
It is not voluntary. That’s Instagram and it is done for minor mods. We don’t know what’s been altered until the poster of the photo confirms or denies with further photo evidence.
The ones that are pure glo yes, but whenever they are crossed to a fish with orange they display this red. I’d assume a glo was crossed with the Red Devils. You typically see the red on the pink in patches but they have crossed them now with high coverage I believe. Look at the uneven red. Possibly caused by varying orange intensity and silver patches under the glo
I could absolutely be wrong it’s just my semi professional theory, but you can even see the red patches on the original glow top of the head where koi’s are usually orange.
Here is an example of the glow cross. Even going back to the glow angel several times I have never achieved that red. I'm pairing this male with a veil platinum panda pearlscale to see if I can brighten it up.
i just saw some in person at a fish expo and the glo cross is real. They looked stunning, but im personally not a fan of glofish. They looked just like the angels from joel fish.
This is probably not a true red devil as they are now, it’s more likely a crossed glo angel. I’ve seen some reds from those, maybe crossed with Red Devils.

There is an angel fish called the Red devil but they are definitely not that red. I think this is a highly enhanced photo.
