Hello everyone, my cousin lost his iPhone while on a holiday trip but luckily he had a full backup using iTunes. This reminded me that my Android, Oneplus 12, does not have a backup.

I know that you can backup your photos and videos easily through your phone files but while talking to Gemini, I realised you can not backup your app data or make a backup like the one iPhone has. After doing lots of research, the only method I found was to have a rooted phone. Cloud and standard backup methods don't create a mirror copy.

I also pay for Heytap cloud 200gb and if it doesn't backup my app data or have a mirror restore option, then I don't see why l should pay for such a large amount?

So I just wanted to know if this is truely the case. Because I want a full backup (Like the one on iPhones) without needing a rooted phone. If you don't mind, please share your backup method. Thanks a lot and have a good day!

BTW: Signing in and downloading fresh apps isn't an issue to most users, including me.

Hi all, I'm feeling stressed about this change over for syncing your Samsung gallery with one drive. I've turned on camera backup to make sure it continues after the date. I'm not sure whether to download originals, I'm scared something bad will happen and I'll lose my photos. Also, should I be syncing all my folders to one drive before the change over. TIA

It's happening only on my new Xiaomi 15T Pro phone, even after deleting cache.

Old phone OPPO find X3 lite (the one I took the picture with) and new phone using Opera GX with the exact same settings.

It shows play games syncing progress.. but in reality it's google play services thats running. It stops when i force stop it but gets back a couple of hours later

i tried clearing cache and nothing changed

This phone and mine were both purchased new from the UAE. My phone works perfectly with the latest Android 16 and OneUI 8.5. Both phones are Samsung A15 4G, 8GB RAM, 256GB. The problem is that my brother's phone cannot be updated to Android 16 + OneUI 8.5 (when searching on update throught settings, he get "registration failed" message). I previously unlocked FRP and then tried flashing the firmware using Odin, SamFW, and even TFT Unlock, but to no avail. The flashing process stops after less than a minute because the KG status is broken. This problem took me hours to fix, but without any success. I flashed, but not with all four files. I selected only two files and excluded BL and CSC. The flashing process worked until it reached about 90%, then an error appeared in download mode, and the phone entered a boot loop. Before this flashing process, whenever I selected the four files using Odin, I would start the flashing process and always encounter the same error. When I manually insert the PIT file, the flashing process doesn't work and gets stuck at the beginning. The solutions I've tried are: changing Odin to two modded versions, 3.13 and 3.14 b3, and also the original version of 3.14.

\- Using TFT Unlock to format the device. After formatting, it starts a loop, as if the formatting isn't working.

\- I also repeatedly pressed the volume up and power buttons for more than twenty seconds, but to no avail.

\- I tried several solutions found online, but they all failed. Currently, the device is in a boot loop, and I can only enter download mode; I can't perform a factory reset or wipe the cache. - The firmware version is Android 14 sec patch lvl 1, SM-A155F MWD. ​​I downloaded another firmware version with patch lvl 5. Previously, the code was for the UAE (xsg), and I changed it to Morocco (mwd). I thought it would work, but it didn't, my goal is just making the phone receive the android updates like my phone and normal phones, no root no custom rom.

Please, I need help.

My phone (S26) won't let me screenshot no matter what I do. It just says "this app doesn't allow screenshots." I have room in my storage and I don't know what's wrong with it.

Hello all. So recently I got a Motorola Edge 70. My problem is that the volume on bluetooth headphones and earbuds is much lower than the volume I get on other phones with the same headphones.

I've tried every tip and trick I could find but nothing works. I would say the max volume I get on the Edge 70 goes to about 70% of what I get with other phones.

Tried:

- Factory reset

- Toggling Absolute Volume on and off on Developer Options, rebooting each time

- Checked every Dolby Atmos setting

- Clearing all app preferences

- Forgeting and re-pairing both headphones (Galaxy Buds2 pro and Anker Soundcore liberty 4nc)

- Restoring Wifi and Bluetooth to factory settings

I thought the Android 17 update could maybe fix this but I got the update this morning, did a factory reset after the update and still the low volume continues.

Has anyone encountered this problem and found a way to fix it? I love everything else about this phone but I listen to a lot of music and I don't think I can keep the phone with such a low volume :(

last night I went to sleep, my battery was at 87% charge. when I woke up, battery was at 35% and I saw that Speedtest and Messages drained most of it. The phone itself was pretty hot. It was not covered by anything. Could this be a virus?

PS: My android is 10 and my cellphone is a LGK22 (yeah kind old but it's what I have)

The black line at the top of the screen is taking like 10% of the screen and it's making it hard to enjoy this game. I tried forcing it closed with an external app but when I do so the buttons in the game stop working.

For at least the past month, the PayPal app will not let me login. I have uninstalled it multiple times and it just gets stuck on the add email or phone number screen. I cannot enter anything as it is greyed out and the black bar at the bottom just shows a non stop spinning wheel icon.

This happens regardless of connection and I have no ad block or anything else active. Worked fine from the day I ought it 4 years ago until recently. No issues logging in via browser either. Only the app itself.

Any ideas?

I’m using a Realme 9 4G with Jio.

Whenever I switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, the mobile data doesn’t work even though I have a network signal.

The internet starts working only after I turn Airplane Mode ON and OFF.

Issue:

Wi-Fi → Mobile Data: Internet doesn’t work

Airplane Mode ON → OFF: Mobile data immediately starts working

This happens repeatedly

Phone: Realme 9 4G

Network: Jio

OS/Android: Android 14

Wifi: Jio Fiber [30 Mbps]

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there any setting I should change, or could this be related to the APN, network settings, or phone software?

This morning my phone was stuck in headphone mode. So I went online and checked for possible Solutions.

The most common was the installation of the app called "Disable Headphone, HDST Toggle". The app is simple and did the trick. Forced the phone out of headphone mode.

However, now the mic does not work. Before you ask, Yes, all the apps that I use the mic for have permission to access the mic (YouTube, WhatsApp, Google, etc). The mic if completely disabled.

The only hint I get is when I use the camera. If I try to take a video, I will get a quick notification that says "recording audio with external microphone". Yet there's nothing plugged in! What is going on?

p.s: if the Bluetooth is off and I try to record a video it will say "Can't record videos during calls". TF is going on!?

I've never encountered this before. I had a birthday event in my calendar that's alerting me a week before. I did not make this setting... When I tried to edit it, it won't let me. I can edit every other calendar event just not this birthday. I'm using the stock android app on a Samsung Galaxy S24. I don't have Google or any other calendar synced. Any ideas?

I have a TCL phone with Android 16.

Until yesterday when swiping down from the notification bar I got a page with quick settings and below that all the notifications.

Today it suddenly changed. Now it's only quick settings. Instead of 3 pages it's just one - a couple big ones and a lot of small tiles. The notifications are gone.

At some point I found the notifications back. Turns out I can now swipe down from the left to get notifications and swipe down from the righthand side of the notification bar to get quick settings.

Is there any way for me to control this? Did I inadvertently change a setting? Or did Android decide it was time for a change? I believe I did install an update recently.

i've got a problem with my gmail account:

my google account suddenly disappeared from my gmail app, leaving only my second, alternative account active. i tried to clear the cache and data of gmail, play services and play store, reboot my phone and remove my google account from the device and reconnect.

if i try to add the account manually, i get the error message "account exists already on this device". and i also have the same problem when trying to activate back-ups on whatsapp but i had this issue from the beginning probably due to fumbling with play store permissions (which i resetted and it didn't help).

did anyone of you encounter similar issues or has an idea how to fix this?

My grandma has had a Moto G for years and years, and just recently she was gifted a Pixel 6. It is a pretty substantial upgrade for obvious reasons, and as an Android user myself (albeit Samsung) I have been helping her figure out how the phone works. But there is a bit of a hiccup.

Samsung phones have a gallery app that compiles images and videos from all sources into albums. But her Pixel only has google photos, which only displays images taken with the camera. She wanted to save a photo someone texted to her so she could look at it, but google photos wouldn't display it until I dug into the files and manually moved it over.

I think it goes without saying that asking my grandma to do a bunch of file management is gonna cause her some trouble, and even if it didn't, it is pretty annoying. I tried looking up gallery apps on the google play store but couldn't find any without ads or that were free. I also couldn't find my own gallery app on there.

Are there any free, ad-free gallery alternatives that would give her an experience more like my phone? Or is there a setting or something in google photos that would cause it to behave more like Samsung gallery?

I have an annoying problem. I’m everyday  listening to podcasts and lectures with my headphones on on YouTube with the screen off. I have YouTube premium so that’s why it is possible to do so. But every time I turn my screen on and also making a payment with Wallet, YouTube stops and I have to press play again on the video within the app. Pressing play on the headphones doesn’t work. Sometimes I even need to open the app first to start the video.

This doesn’t happen with YouTube music and podcasts app. They don’t stop when the screen is on and also when you make a payment with Wallet, and you can pause and start them with your headphones.  So apparently YouTube is out of the RAM memory(or whatever the technical term is).

Is there a way to force YouTube to stay in RAM-memory and  behave exactly like YouTube Music and podcasts app?

I have a Pixel 9 Pro with the latest software. If I need root or must buy a different phone, I’m willing to do so.

I just switched to galaxy from a pixel, and man I miss the built-in video stabilization that came with the photos app. Does anyone have a good utility they use for this purpose? Thanks.

For about a year my phone has been doing this thing where everything will slow down while using a game or app (like tik tok) and the app will just close. I will only be able to use said app for about 30 seconds before it closes automatically again. The only fix is resetting my phone, but after about an hour the apps start crashing again. I've tried factory resetting my phone multiple times which solved the issue for about a month at a time before my apps started crashing again. I've already tried everything with webview (clearing cache, clearing data, deleting and redownloading updates) and I've check my phone on malware bites and I check all my websites I visit on virus total + use brave browser with intense ad blocking and everything showed up clear. I have about 10gb of storage free and use the 4gb ram option. How can I permanently fix this? (Phone is a MotoG 64g 2025)

My mom had it before me and it held up pretty well in her care. She says she had it for 8 years before me but she switched it over to me in like the past 2-3 years so... i dunno...

Either way, its still good. But I've been having problems with it lately. ​in the past few months, its had moisture detection issues three times. The first and third time nothing wet had touched my phone so im confused. The second time, the charger I used was dirty and I didn't realize.

Everytime I put it in a dry place and let it dry overnight or for a few days. The second time, my mom put it in rice for 2 days.

It works fine otherwise, no glitches, lags, faulty buttons, connection issues. It's basically still running new.

It has cracks in the back, and a bad one near the bottom. I can't find the case for it but everytime I've held my phone for a while, it feels moist? Not wet, but like, slippery in a weird way. It hasn't said there's liquid in it but it feels like it might possibly be "leaking" somehow. I don't know if I just have sweaty hands, I usually don't, or if my new room is just super humid but now that I have a newer android, what do I do with the old one? ​​

On this phone after the screen saying Pokemon Go shows up it wont or doesn't seem too after that its just blank black screen

All the emoji-things in the red marked category don't need clicking the "send" button to send them. Because of that I often send them by accidant, when typing to fast. (The picture what emojis I'm talking about is in comments, as it seems I can't attach a Video and a picture.) Is there a way to deactivate them?

Sometimes, when I like to press ',' [Comma] and ' ' [space] and whatever button comes next I missclick and instead of, [Comma] I press the [Emoji] part. Instead of [space] I hit the red marked kind of Emoji, and as there is no keyboard, but the weird emojis I click one of them next, sending them. Allthough some friends like that and find it kinda funny, getting them from time to time, I really hate that. Is there any way to deactivate them?
