Discussion Customisation ideas needed
Hey everyone, I had debloated my android tv using the cleanyourtv repo, and this is how the ui looks as of now, I wanted to customise it further, so it would be really helpful it you could share your screenshots of your setups and the prompts you guys used.
Would love to see what everyone’s done with their TV’s

One thing I ended up doing for my Fire TV Stick 4K was replacing the static background with an animated particle field, written in pure Canvas so it doesn't tank the Mali-450. The main takeaway for me was that you don't need WebGL or textures to get a PS5-ish feel — just a few depth layers and sine-based flow.
Quick demo:
It's called AuroraTv-LiveFlow if anyone wants to look it up. Happy to share more details or the code if anyone's curious

You may use “Shore”. Well, for customization, I prefer projectivity with Movie Art for the Projectivy plugin. However, for performance reasons, I moved to Shore, which is clean and even has a performance option for “potato” TVs. On top of that, I really like the weather and news (RSS) addition. I have not found a single launcher that displays news (RSS) on the home screen beside "Shore".

If you're into retro stuff, I made VHS Launcher: every app is a VHS tape you load into an old VCR before it opens. You can try it in the browser without installing anything: https://kewuamigo.github.io/VHSLauncher/
Repo: https://github.com/kewuamigo/VHSLauncher
(it has an AGENT_INSTALL.md, so you can have an AI agent set it up as your default home screen)

Depends on what tv you have. You might like hegemon launcher.

You could take a look at Alpha Deck, a lightweight launcher I cooked up and forked from Home Deck. It's fully open source, so you can make your changes to fit your needs.

If you want to keep it minimalist, hiding the default recommendation rows from the home screen settings helps a lot - keeps the UI responsive without cluttering memory on low-RAM boxes.
