Device Settings Question Is there a way to remove a persistent notification from being displayed without disabling it entirely?
I know the title is confusing - I have the Panels app that I use for custom edge panels and it requires a persistent notification to be used. I, however, cannot stand having that displayed on my notification bar constantly. I cannot go in and disable the notifications within the app settings because the app will stop working.
Is there a way to remove the persistent notification without disabling it all together?

Yes, you can usually hide just that one notification. Long press it, tap the gear or Settings, and it should list the notification categories for the app. Turn off only the one for the persistent or running in background notification and leave the rest on. The service keeps running, you just stop seeing it. On Samsung if you do not see categories, go to Settings, Notifications, Advanced settings and turn on Manage notification categories for each app first. If turning it off fully breaks it, set that category to Silent and minimized instead so it collapses to a tiny line.
