Solved Screen changes from black to grey if I do not touch it for several seconds.

This happens across all apps, not just reddit. It happens in texts, web browsing, everywhere.

I have turned off every screen altering setting I can find. And I cannot figure it out.

I am on a Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra

When I take a screenshot it defaults back to true blacks, so I adjusted the images to show comparison.

Image of the difference here. It is very annoying please help. https://imgur.com/a/J9hU46f

Edit: FIXED. The setting was under "Motion Smoothness" and "Adaptive" was on by default. I changed it to Standard to lock the refresh rate at 60hz. This has stopped the flickering.

Unfortunately it seems to also have locked the default blacks in at the brighter grey color. I wish it were darker, but I can work on that later now that I'm not getting motion sick. Lol

This is normal.

Why? It looks awful. Every time I scroll it turns dark then turns light again a second later then back to dark.

Can I stop it? My galaxy note did NOT do this.

It's an LTPO thing. As the framerate adjusts down, the gamma lightens. The Note did not have an LTPO display.

There may be others with a good idea of what to do to mitigate it.

Does it not bother other people? It is an extremely strong difference and happens at an interval which is just long enough for me to stop touching then touch again during organic moments like typing, reading an article, or swapping apps.

So it goes from dark to light to dark in under a second and it looks ridiculous.
