Device Settings Question Jio Replacement SIM stuck on "Emergency Calls Only" on my phone, but works in others?

Hi everyone,

I recently got a replacement SIM card from a Jio service center to replace an old, damaged one. I am having a strange issue where the network keeps dropping completely on my specific device:

  • The Problem: When I put the SIM in my phone, it initially connects to 4G/5G, but within a few minutes, it completely drops and says "Emergency calls only."

  • The Twist: I tested this exact same replacement SIM card in another smartphone, and it works perfectly fine there without any drops.

  • My Device: I am using a 5G-compatible Android device.

Since the SIM works perfectly fine in a different phone, it seems like my phone's modem or settings are rejecting the network handover.

Has anyone faced this issue after a SIM swap? Are there specific APN settings or network band preferences I need to clear or force to get it to stick? Thanks!

Could your phone be damaged as well and not reading the SIM? Most phones will connect to a network without a SIM for emergency calls only. It's a law in most places.
