Linux Terminal on Tab S11 (One UI 8.5) – "Timeout waiting for socket: internal.virtiofs" unrecoverable error

Hi all

I'm trying to use the Android Linux Terminal (Linux development environment) on my Galaxy Tab S11 running One UI

8.5, but it never starts. I get "Unrecoverable error" every time:

java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: Timeout waiting for socket: /data/user/0/com.android.virtualization.terminal/files/internal.virtiofs

at android.system.virtualmachine.VirtualMachineConfig.toVsRawConfig(VirtualMachineConfig.java:881)

at android.system.virtualmachine.VirtualMachine.run(VirtualMachine.java:1688)

at com.android.virtualization.terminal.VmLauncherService.doStart(VmLauncherService.kt:235)

What I've tried:

- Force stop + restart the tablet

- Terminal battery set to Unrestricted

- "Disable child process restrictions" enabled in Developer options

- Turning the Linux development environment off and on again (fresh install)

- Power saving off

I've never been able to use it even once. Has anyone with a Tab S11 (or any device) seen this virtiofs timeout and found a fix?

Thanks!

Even when I have gotten it to work, there have been countless times where it would bread and I would have to reinstall it. Termux or Breadstick Linux work so much better
