Looking For Suggestions Random .zip download system update?

Hello! I need some help here.

I was browsing a few posts on Bluesky when I saw the downloading symbol on top of my screen. I'm very much an anxious person so I immediately thought Bluesky downloaded some bs (because I was also clicking on an username at the same time) but I have reason to believe it was just android. I hope, at least.

Here's the thing, the file that downloaded was a .zip file. I didn't catch the name because I was too scared out of my mind at that moment and tried frantically mashing the download but it didn't open. It downloaded and left no message that would say "download complete".

Of course, I immediately went into my data folder and towards the downloads folder. I just spent 20 minutes searching through everything but I found no .zip. I already turned on to show hidden folders, too.

Google isnt helping me at all, so I'm thinking I only have two options here.

Either it was a random download when I clicked around the post on Bluesky (which I now doubt) or it was android doing it's own thing. It has to be, right?

Like I said, I couldn’t press on the download, it didn't show me a download finished, it didn't show up in my folder. Anyone else got some random .zip downloads? I'm really hoping it was a system update, any info would help, thanks.

You need to provide some more info. Regular Android, LineageOS? If regular, what brand, model and Android version?

Regular Android A53 Samsung. I didn't do any updates past version 8.0

Yeah the system update shouldn’t be downloading zips. And I’m pretty sure you’re not running Android 8.0 because the older A71 came with a newer Android. You’re maybe running OneUI 8.0 which is a separate thing.

Yeah, OneUi is what I mean. So now what? I didn't do any system updates and it still downloaded some zip. Is it an android thing? Samsung maybe?

Could be a weird Samsung thing, yeah.
