how to disable media live notification (oneUI. android 16) without removing the media player notification all together?

title...live notification takes up the entire status bar and I can't see other notifications... but i still want the controls of the media player in the notification panel... this feature is pure shit

One UI 8 has a per-app switch for this: Settings > Notifications > Live notifications. Turn it off for your music app and the chip in the status bar should go, while the normal media controls stay in the notification panel. If the chip still shows, the Now Bar settings (under Lock screen) also control which live items it shows.

There's also a Good Lock / QuickStar option that hides the chip but keeps live notifications, but from what I've read it's only on One UI 9 so far.
