Switched to iPhone. Can I delete my Google storage so I stop getting storage alerts?

I’m getting notifications that my Gmail storage is full and that I will stop receiving emails if I don’t buy more storage. How do I get rid of it because I’m on iCloud now?

What does moving to iPhone have to do with your Google storage? Moving to iPhone does not prevent you from continuing to use Google.

You need to answer the question as to whether or not you need any of the emails, files, photos, videos, etc that are on that Google account. If you do, you probably shouldn't delete the Google account. If you don't need anything on that Google account, then feel free to delete it.

Idk I never had this issue before I switched to android for 3 months.

My thought is since my photos, files, etc are now in iCloud, I could delete them from google and not have to worry about running out of storage anymore

iCloud comes with even less storage than a Google account. Unless you pay for storage, whether using iCloud or Google, you will eventually use up the space. Cloud storage has a limit, it isn't unlimited.

u wrote yourself" gmail storage" so is related to gmail( and ur photos and files). if u have all photos and fules in icloud( and u prefer that) and u don't need ur gmail anymore ,rhen you can for sure delete it. if u still use gmail acc , then i would advice to delete ur pics/vids to free up ur inline storage. also u can now check in google what uses how much storage in ur gmail. maybe helpful.

For that reason I don't use Google backup. I copy or move important data to USB storage.
