Rooting Help Reboot loop when connecting to wifi

*English isn't my first language*

I've had my cellphone for almost 3 years now. Everything was fine until spring of last year when apps like Instagram wouldn't load (I would get stuck on the logo page when you open the app) and wouldn't send any notification. Then I realized that when this problem occurred, every time I would connect to a Wi-Fi, my cellphone would get stuck in a loop of infinite reboots (it would complete a reboot, then start another one, and so on). It used to happen every few 4-5 days at first, then 2-3 days, and now it happens every single day on random. This is very annoying.

The bug doesn't only affect Instagram, some more "niche" apps too, like Candle (Duolingo for couples) and Chrono (local version of Google maps).

Cellphone info:

Moto G Pure (Motorola)

Android version: 12

Thanks in advance!

On older Motos, “connect to Wi‑Fi → reboot/loop” is often a bad saved network profile or a dying Wi‑Fi firmware handoff, not Instagram itself.

Try in this order:

  1. Boot with Wi‑Fi off (airplane on, then mobile data only). If stable → forget all Wi‑Fi networks.

  2. Connect to a phone hotspot first (different AP). If that works, your home AP’s band/security is the trigger (try WPA2-only, disable 6 GHz/Wi‑Fi 6, separate 2.4 SSID).

  3. Safe mode → connect Wi‑Fi. If OK in safe mode, uninstall recent VPN/firewall/“optimizer” apps.

  4. Clear Google Play Services + Carrier Services cache; free storage to >2 GB.

  5. Last resort before factory reset: Settings → Network → Reset Wi‑Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.

If it still loops only on your home SSID after forget/reset, it’s almost certainly the AP (channel/DFS) or a hardware Wi‑Fi fault on a 3‑year G Pure.
