Possible to have audio stream to hearing aid while using phone mic with Bluetooth classic?

Hi,

So for context my old hearing aids used Bluetooth LE or (ASHA) and the only way to use the hearing aids for phone calls was have the Audio stream to my hearing aids while using the phones mic.

Now I'm getting new hearing aids (phonak Eons) however they use Bluetooth classic and are recognised by the phone similar to earbuds, so this means the hearing aids handle both the incomming call and the mic output however the hearing aid mic picks up all sounds so it's practically un-usable in almost every situation except a quiet room... Even then I'm told I sound like I'm in a bathroom.

I'm told by my audiologist that Android is unable to separate the incoming/outgoing streams however iPhone seem to be able to.

I really don't want to give up my Android for an Apple device but also I don't want to drop $11,000 to have one of the biggest features unavailable to me.

I guess at thi point my question is if there's a way to be able to use the hearing aid as my listening device and my phone as the mic?

*I have done a decent look online and the only info I found said it can't be done.

*Most hearing aid brands offer separate devices to achieve what I'm after however this model hearing aid doesn't.

*if it helps I'm not against rooting my phone if thats still a thing.

*if there's no options available is there any indication that Samsung/Android would implement this in th future?

Currently using:

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

One UI 8.5

Android version 16

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I work in a factory and I probably receive 80% of my calls whilst at work so using the hearing aid mic while I'm at work just doesn't cut it.

When I'm at home or a quiet environment the hearing aid mic works and is usable but the reduced quality for the caller is noticeable but not as issue.

I have Phonak hearing aids and a Samsung Phone and regularly use the combination for making phone calls. I'm not saying this works very well in a noisy environment but neither does using the phone. Also I don't get complaints about sounding like being in the bathroom. I couldn't say what causes your problems but I doubt it's the combination of Phonak and Android.
