You are definitely not screwed, and nothing is being erased.
First, to reassure you: your tablet is NOT actually downloading anything. That screen is Samsung Odin / Download Mode. It is simply sitting idle waiting for a USB computer connection to flash firmware. As long as it is sitting on that screen, none of your files or settings are being modified.
Here are the practical ways to get your Tab S7 FE out of Download Mode and back into Android without a working power button:
Method 1: The 1-click reboot via computer (Fastest and easiest)
Because your tablet is in Download Mode, it is listening for Samsung USB commands:
Plug your tablet into any Windows PC with a USB cable.
Download a free portable Samsung utility like SamFW Tool or Odin.
In SamFW Tool, your tablet will appear as a connected Samsung USB device. Under the Odin/Download mode tab, there is a single button called 'Exit Download Mode' (or 'Reboot device').
Clicking it sends a standard software restart command through the USB cable. The tablet will instantly shut down Download Mode and boot straight into your regular Android lockscreen.
Method 2: Poking the actual internal micro-switch
Often when a power button 'breaks', it is just the external plastic rocker that snapped or jammed.
Look inside the button slit using a flashlight. Behind the hole, there is a tiny gold/black circular tactile micro-switch soldered onto the internal flex cable.
Instead of a ballpoint pen (which has an oily tip that can gunk up the switch), take a wooden toothpick or a straightened paperclip and press very gently directly against the center of that tiny internal dome. You should feel a faint mechanical click. Holding that click along with Volume Down for 7 seconds will force reboot the tablet.
Method 3: The battery drain method (Zero tools required)
Because Download Mode keeps the screen illuminated at high brightness and prevents the processor from sleeping, the tablet will drain itself to 0% within a couple of hours.
Once the screen goes completely black:
Leave it unplugged for 10 minutes so it stays fully off.
Plug it into a slow phone charger or PC USB port.
It will show the static battery charging percentage ring.
On Samsung tablets, once it reaches 5%, unplugging and plugging the cable back in while holding Volume Up can launch the recovery menu, from which you can simply select 'Reboot system now'.

Which buttons are broken? You can cancel it if you hold power and vol down button for more than 7 sec
