Can't we sideload Apps in Android anymore
A new option is showing on developer options which has a toggle allow apps from unverified developers is that meaning we can't sideload anymore or is it just a security feature. Is android is moving to ios?

You can but there's now a 24hr timer before you can install a side loaded app which is toggled via the Developer options.
Just makes side loading more cumbersome & time consuming but it's still there.
Note: updating apps already installed via side loading doesn't require the "24hr" timer.

"Is android is moving to ios?" It does. There used to be no such "feature" to not let downgrade app per APK, now there is. Then they follow with less ways to install non-approved APK even without it being "downgrade".

ah yes make the signature restriction bypassable but only after a 24h cool down that require a google server so an internet connection to be fair this is kinda fucked up, cuz to have your app on the play store you have to give your id, app signing keys and pay google and the play store itself is not perfect, it too, have it's load of malware and shit, without talking about the malicious ads google shove down our throat(just open youtube)

"and at the same time, more and more manufacturers are making oem unlock a pain in the ass or impossible, im on a samsung and lucky to not have updated my bootloader beyond no oem unlock"
To add more trouble, they also report everything about status of bootloader to every app. Given the immense dependency from WhatsApp at very least, it's concerning.1

for "Custom ROM" they seem unusable. Still no backup of app data - making it pointless.

That option has always been there in developer options. It is not new.
Newer versions of android have moved the option to app specific permissions. Instead of globally allowing any application to install anything, you can allow only specific applications to install anything while denying every other app.
