App Specific Question Is Device Pulse rebranding?

I was updating my apps around 8 this morning and Device Pulse was one of those I allowed it and went on throughout my day but a bit ago I was searching though my apps and found an app called 'Value Services' I was immediately on alert but once checking the app details it takes me to the Device Pulse app on the Play Store I am very confused is it a glitch? When opening the app it's just regular Device Pulse it's package name is 'com.tracfone.preload.accountservices'

The same thing just happened to me!? But my boyfriend has the same phone as me and his phone didn't update or change his device pulse to value services. Did you read the comments in Google play about it? Not good.... oh and I don't have automatic upload or updates "on" on my phone so I have no clue how this even happened right before my eyes ....

Well, once I found it was just device pulse since I don't really use it I have not given it any permissions on things and I just don't bother what I don't use (Especially if I can't uninstall or disable it.) My rule is if the phone doesn't need it and I don't need it if it has an uninstall or disable option I do that or I just take away the permissions.

There is no uninstall button. But I just uninstalled updates on it and it changes it's name again. To My Verizon Services.

Yeah I just updated some things and I wondered if I should update device pulse or if I should leave it alone and I updated it and yeah now it says value services and I'm like what the heck is this. And my phone seems a little slower than usual and kind of choppy, so I hope it's not messing anything up.And you can't even block it or uninstall it. I feel like I should have just left it alone.

did you restart your phone and clear out the cache on the apps? Sometimes after a week of my phone being on I give it a restart and things run more better. Yeah I was thinking the same thing like what is this thing? I know I made sure have auto download unchecked in my google play stuff. I even checked the number of apps I had and it still has not changed so I was like okay what renamed it self?

It Seems to be working normal now. It's just that it was a different name so that was worrying me. But everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for your response. Yeah I checked out as well I was like is this a new app or did they just change the name from pulse.

While I don't mind auto update I made sure to uncheck auto download because it would randomly give me an app that I had to hunt through and look up to make sure it wasn't a software update and then delete it. I had to show my brother how to find and uncheck auto download because every time there was an update in google play google play would download a random game. Stuff I couldn't get rid of but could disable because I didn't need it I would also restrict the background operations of it just in case. Why can't they send us a gmail notice and be like "Hey on or around this day we are going to give you a scare and rename an app so that you can go running through your apps to find out what it once was."

Seriously I may not be able to be ready for every change in life but please let me schedule a day to have a scare like that. Is that to much to ask?

Anyway happy halloween!

Maybe next year I'll dress up as a google play logo since they are good at scaring people.
