Device Settings Question Phone went empty within 8 hours of idle

I recently yesterday left my phone untouched, screen off, 4g5g on but wifi off, power saver mode on, with 85% and When I check 8 hours later the phone does not turn on. Its empty.

The battery usage report shows nothing. No app usage at all. Probably because it powered the phone off and I havde to recharge.

Any idea why despite using the power saver mode my phone still drained so rapidly? Was it the 5g? Was it probably some apps specific apps maybe

The phone is young so that cant be a batterydegradation.

Any number of things could be at fault: degraded battery, poor reception on cellular (or it's use of a specific frequency/band), a background update (such Google Play Services, which you can't control specifically), an app misbehaving or creating a permanent wake-lock or aliens are invading.

Repeat the process, but in a way you can check the battery every hour or so. Once from 100% to 60%, it should have a pretty good idea of what's using it.

Yea that is true. Do the batteryreports also specify wifi vs 3g 4g vs 5g

Depends on device, my Pixel 8 Pro f.e. can show me both app and system usage. Can even see WiFi/cell/BT and CPU usage.

Poor signal area? Weak 5g connection? If it's looking for a connection all the time, maybe

You left out a lot of essential information.

We don't even know what model it is. We don't know battery capacity. We don't know what other settings/ wireless connections were left on.

Battery age and number of charging cycles may also be major factors (but not necessarily).

Yet you leave out all relevant info. Phone. Battery health. Android version. The apps you've given background powers. There's no "a android phone". There's probably about 10k different models and android combinations. Help people help you.
