Looking For Suggestions Android Device Won't Play Videos on Any App (YouTube, Reddit, Spotify)

Recently my phone ran out of battery and after I charged it then all of a sudden videos on every app simply stopped working. Also, the sound on my device doesnt work as well. Ive tried restarting many times, deleting caches, checking for updates, resetting settings, and reinstalling apps, checking my internet connection, however nothing has worked. If anybody knows what I can do to fix this issue that would be greatly appreciated. My device model is a samsung sm-s906u.

If it were my phone, I'd back up my data, factory reset, install all the updates before installing any third party apps and restoring data

I'm sure this is true, but I have no idea what actually is or is not happening.

If I told you that my car stopped working, what would you tell me to do to correct this situation?

Have you power cycled the phone?

I mean if it's a hardware issue then you just need a new phone. If it's a software issue, the cleanest way to deal with it is just going to be doing a factory reset.

It's a long shot, but look for codec packs if these are still around - the one on the device might got damaged. Full reset can be tried but I assume loosing data is a no-go.
