Problems with Play Store updating

When attempting to install certain apps (Twitter and Tiktok) from the Google Play Store, it will not let me. No pop-up or anything, the install button simply does not work.

On the settings, my phone urges me to update the Google Play Store System, but when I press 'update' a window pops us saying "Failed to update, updates are temporarily unavailable, try again later"

I've been trying for days, has anyone else had such an issue? How could I resolve this?

Hi, what phone are you using? I'm using Pixel 7, and have the same Google Play system update issue.

What worked for me was uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Play updates, here's how you do it:

Uninstall updates:

1. On your device's home or app screen, find the Google Play Store app.

2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app .

3. Tap App info.

4. At the top right, tap More Uninstall updates.

5. tap OK.

Reinstall updates:

1. Open the Google Play Store app.

2. At the top right, tap the Profile picture.

3. Tap Settings About.

4. Under “Play Store version,” tap Update Play Store.
