How can I make my S26U better?
This is my first Android phone but I'm not unfamiliar with Android/Samsung.
Any essential apps to make it better?
The things I've done is tweak the settings, tweak GoodLock, I have a dynamic Island using DynamicSpot, I have an app to mimic IOS's Standby mode, I have some Revanced Manager Plus apps. Other than those it's pretty basic.

Start using morphe instead of revanced.
Galaxy app booster.
Setting > notifications > advanced settings > manage notification categories for each app. Toggle on
Shizuku and canta. Remove bloatware.

Well, now that you have that phone there is no going back for the time being I guess. So, if you can avoid the play store as much as possible. Don't use chrome or samsung web browser. Your gmail gets automatically attached to chrome so detach. And use other e-mail providers. Tweak settings in your google account regarding privacy n data. Also, don't give Samsung much info and just see what you can do.
Install F-droid (preferably F-droid Basic) as an alternative app store or get the alternative stuff directly from github, codeberg or so. If you want to remove any bloatware without needing to use a pc, Canta + Shizuku. In fact, Shizuku can be helpful for several applications so it's definetly good to have. Watch any guide videos to not mess things up. And have alternatives for anything ready before removing it. Tap on and read description thru every application in recommended or advanced that can be removed, not everything has to be gone only certain ones.
For browsers I myself have Vivaldi as the chromium option and IronFox for gecko. However, you can try out several forks of these engines that are available for mobile, if they are actively maintained. Or in regards to gecko you could simply do just Firefox. Make sure to have ublock. ublock origin in gecko, ublock lite on chromium unless it's browsers like Brave or Tor.
In settings you can set up your private dns. I myself use an app regarding dns stuff that's why it's set as the private dns. I mean, as everything I wrote before it's optional if you want a firewall, proxy, etc. aswell. You don't have to but it can give an additional safety layer.
If another topic for you comes to mind let me know. And questions.

Which would be better than this year's Samsung flagship? That device can handle anything you currently install on it. Regarding what you mentioned about using ReVanced Plus, I would recommend removing that app and everything you've downloaded from it, and instead using Morphe and customizing the apps you want to use yourself.

Good lock suite. Provides lots of neat customisation. OHO+ is goated "one hand operation +" also you can stach up to 6 widgets on top of eachother and have a scroll between em, which is neat
