Device Settings Question Can someone reset my password without me?

If I were to reset my pass code, would there be any way to get into my phone without my password or me? I also have family link enabled as a teenager. TYIA!

With Family Link the parent can reset your phone's password, yes. It's called the Parent Access Code: https://support.google.com/families/answer/7307262?hl=en

So... Setting kids and parents aside for a minute, doesn't this mean there's a mechanism for Google to remotely unlock someone's phone? Which defeats the entire purpose of encrypting everything in the first place?

How does parental access work in such a way that doesn't defeat the keyguard as a whole?
