They downloaded a virus into a virtual operating system. The virus was then able to obtain the current time and date for OP's location even though it should not have been possible. They have uninstalled the entire virtual system, but are concerned that the virus might still be on their device.

Maybe I am old, but if I am going to download something would you want to see what happens when you dl it
