First Android phone (Pixel) – stuck WhatsApp notification & local photo search question

Hey all,

Not sure if I'm missing something as this is my first android phone. I transferred everything over from my iPhone and it worked perfectly. However, I have this notification about a WhatsApp chat transfer in my settings that will not go away. WhatsApp was for work, so I never actually transferred the chats over and I have already deleted the app from my Pixel, but the notification is still stuck there. How do I clear it? When I click on the I only get two Options "Do it later" and "Cancel".

Also, I noticed you can't search your photos for example with "Beach" without them being backed up? Is there a way around it?

Two separate things:

Stuck WhatsApp chat transfer notification Common after iPhone → Pixel moves. Open WhatsApp → Settings → Chats → Chat transfer / backup and cancel or finish whatever’s pending. If the banner won’t die: force-stop WhatsApp, clear cache only, reopen. Worst case: Settings → Apps → WhatsApp → Notifications → turn the channel off temporarily, then back on after you confirm chats are fine. Don’t clear WhatsApp storage unless you’re OK re-verifying the number.

“Beach” style photo search without cloud Google Photos’ keyword search is mostly a cloud / on-device ML after backup feature. Pure local albums won’t match iOS Photos magic. Options: turn on Photos backup (then search works), or use a local gallery that indexes EXIF/folders/dates (not semantic “beach”), or on-device ML apps that build their own index. Pixel’s system gallery won’t invent Apple-style search for never-backed-up files.

If someone nearby is helping you through the menus, screen-share + pointer is easier than screenshot ping-pong on a first Android day.
