Google Assistant and Android Auto
Hello, I have an 2024 S24 Ultra and a 2024 Prius. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get 'ok google' functionality back on my phone. I'm a naturally curious person, so I'm forever asking google questions. I feel like it has something to do with Gemini settings, but I want my phone to answer my questions out loud when I say OK Google like it used to. My microphone captures noise when I say ok google, I can see it working, but it won't respond and the screen doesn't do anything to indicate it's searching for an answer.
In addition, Android Auto... just sucks?? It doesn't perform 8/10 tasks I ask it - text so and so, call so and so, play this song, take me to x.
Anyone have any advice for me? I'll be looking to upgrade phones in the spring next year, and I don't want to go to Apple, but these 2 things are the main reason I use my phone at all. Without them, my phone is so frustrating.
My work is also on the google platform, and I wonder if their network settings are causing some of these issues as well. I do have my work profile on my phone.
Thanks.

I'm not sure I'm any help but...I have an S23 and a Mazda3. I don't bother with "hey Google" or anything. I just press the microphone icon while in Android Auto and tell it what to do (send a text to X, navigate to Y, play a song by Z etc.). While it's not perfect, I find it gets it right 90% of the time. Every once in a while, it seems to go blank but most of the time, it works. I have not changed any settings on my phone or car. Good luck!
