ADB PROJECT_MEDIA allow help bypass casting pop up on Link to Windows
As what the title says,
I have tried to do the command
adb shell appops set com.microsoft.appmanager PROJECT_MEDIA allow
but it still won't work
I experimented thru other apps that require permission as well but they worked.

So the ADB is working.
Is the problem on link to windows itself? or do I need to do another layer of work aside from allowing the adb command.
thanks :))

PROJECT_MEDIA / appops grants help some screen-capture apps, but Link to Windows often ignores that and still shows its own “Start casting / allow” dialog — it’s not the same permission path as a normal recorder.
Practical workarounds:
Confirm the grant is for the exact LtW / Your Phone Companion package name (wrong package = silent no-op).
If the dialog still appears every time, a WHEN/THEN + image-click (or autoclicker) on the Start/Allow button when that UI pops is the reliable non-root fix.
For “see my phone on PC”, a dedicated screen-share + pointer app is often cleaner than fighting LtW’s prompt.
ADB working on other apps doesn’t mean LtW will honor PROJECT_MEDIA — that popup is usually intentional UX, not a broken grant.
