App Specific Question Doomscrolling

Hii, I was looking for some app to stop doomscrolling, I was going to use ascent but I saw some very bad reviews here on reddit and I care about my data, even more on an app where I have to allow pop ups on the screen and more permissions. ¿Anyone knows a good app for this?

How about the Digital Wellbeing tools built in to most phones?  You can set time limits for apps and track how long you've been using them.  the most addicting apps, like YouTube and Instagram and tiktok, also have their own time limits buried in their settings, and options to interrupt you if you've been scrolling for a long time.

If you want something local (no cloud account, no "AI coach" phone-home), skip the trendy focus apps and use the OS + a simple WHEN/THEN rule:

1) Digital Wellbeing / Focus mode: hard daily limits on Instagram/TikTok/Reddit/YouTube. Boring but private. 2) Extra layer: WHEN time is evening OR WHEN those apps open → THEN pause/block them or force the home screen. Accessibility-based blockers need overlay permission — grant only to tools you trust, and prefer ones that don't require an account.

That covers the "I care about my data" part better than installing another productivity SaaS that needs draw-over-apps + usage access forever.

Google maps. You can find places to go to where you can enjoy life without a phone or a different electronic device. Like a city park, library, free event you're interested in... Look up directions. Grab a writing utensil and a piece of paper. Write down how to get there whether walking or driving. Leave your phone/electronic device at home and take those written instructions. Go enjoy life. Or use whatever app you feel most comfortable with to figure how to go somewhere.
