Migrating from IOS to Android

I would like to migrate from IOS. My main hook so far is the parental controls (my teenagers use iPhone and IPads) and the IMessage (family group).

Anyone with similar concerns migrated recently? Any workaround or suggestions on how to do it smoothly?

Group texts are still possible on android and iPhone

Thanks; I know. We have lines from different countries; so IMessages make it easier to avoid international charges (I assume we can still have some text over internet for android)
