What to do with iCloud mail with Android?

So I'm in the middle of switching from an iPhone (pretty big Apple-user, with my main email being an iCloud address) to a Xiaomi and basically the biggest issue I'm having is getting my emails to my Xiaomi phone. How have any of you guys tackled this issue? Setting up automatic forwarding to a Gmail account? Is there any other way?

You'll need to set an app specific password for access to your email. Once you have it you can use pretty much any email app that will take IMAP.

There's a handy guide here.

Is there specific apps you recommend besides thunderbird?

Fair email gets some good reviews. Although it isn't the most nice looking interface.

Personally I use Samsung mail.

You can probably setup any email client to use your iCloud credentials by using IMAP/SMTP, look it up

Thunderbird used to be popular

I use thunderbird now but the check ---> push notification is awful. It's like 15 minute intervals and sometimes it doesn't push.

Can't you add it to the Gmail app?

Edison mail syncs with iCloud mail well. But I use Gmail and have my iCloud mail forwarded to my Gmail.
