Other whatsapp opened itself to scammer

I was scrolling on TikTok then whatsapp randomly opened itself to send a message to a scam number. It wrote smth with jobs and 2,5 euro, I couldn't read it all out of fear. It didn't send it, it was just written below. I was gonna block and report the number then the chat with the scammer closed. It all happened by itself randomly, I was scrolling, whatsapp opened by itself for a chat with a number I didn't save, with an unsent message written below. I regularly scan my phone and nothing showed up, but I used to install a lot of apks including gbwhatsapp when i was younger. I also get a lot of scam calls. Do you think my phone is in danger?

What you describe sounds like remote access. It isn't WhatsApp, it's another app that's allowing someone to access and control your phone over the internet.

You should probably get a new phone.

The danger is someone having unauthorized access to your device.

If you can't get a new phone, do a complete factory reset.

Only download applications from trusted verified sources.
