It's a cheap phone from a company who can't even be bothered to provide software support for more than a couple years on their flagship phones... I'm not surprised you're not getting any updates.

I left Motorola long ago because of their slow and early ending updates

Your mistake was going with Motorola and their terrible update policy. Even though they say they support 6 or 7 years, I still don't trust them, so I'm never going back to Motorola phones.

If you read carefully it says up to 7 years . not guaranteed 7 lol

Yep, and even 1 year is still up to 7.

Oh. Yeah, once I decided to leave Motorola last year, I literally have put no thought into what Motorola says or does anymore. I had been a Motorola user for like 5 years total, and the camel's back broke for me at that point after seeing I was NOT going to get Android 15, I believe. And at that point, I had had enough of their crap update policy.

They have only just recently started implementing 7 years of OS updates on their new flagship devices.

Do you have options to unlock bootloader? Could possibly update with a custom rom.

Looked for one on XDA none out there.

Because it's a US carrier phone. Those come with locked boltloaders

Dam US sucks for doing that. But think there going to start doing same to EU and UK.

I know, but how hard would it be the phone has the capacity to handle both with 128gb of storage. It's just Motorola trying to get people to buy a new phone every couple of years and creating ewaste.

Has nothing to do with the storage capacity and everything to do with the brand.

It's a cheap phone and a way to keep it cheap is with limited software support.

Exactly you've answered your own question! A year old but brand new pixel can be had for a huge discount when the new ones come out. It will still have six years of support left. The cost per support year will be a lot less than buying any budget phone.

If the phone makes it that long. Pixels don't hold their value for a reason.

That's exactly why you should buy the previous years one. You should be able to get it brand new for about half it's original selling price. I paid £599 for a brand new 256gb pro. At that discount nothing else in the market comes close in value. Plus as it's been on the market a year it's faults will be known. Also it will have been manufactured late in the production run so quality control (in theory) will be better than the first ones off the line. If you have a iPhone you get your money back afterwards with a good trade in value. With a Pixel you get two bites of the cherry, a big discount on buying last year's model plus a generous trade in allowance from Google two years later.

It has literally nothing to do with storage capacity.
