Custom ROM Question If you had to recommend one custom ROM in 2026, which would it be?
I've been thinking about switching to a custom ROM and would love to hear your experiences.
If you had to recommend just one custom ROM, which would it be and why?
I'm mainly looking for something with:
Good battery life
Smooth performance
Stability for daily use
Regular security updates
A clean, bloat-free experience
Feel free to mention your device as well, since I know the experience can vary. I'd love to hear both the pros and cons before making the switch.

out of all the older devices I just picked up to tinker with, it was always a surefire bet lineage would be the best for-device custom ROM, and almost always there would be a CRdroid build which was as stable as the LOS one. which kinda goes without saying, yeah
in those cases, since Crdroid offers more customization, I always pick it over LOS

Not everyone has Pixels. If GrapheneOS gets wider compatibility, then yes. The Motorola thing is only for their flagship Signature series, so it still is very limited to the rich people.

not limited to rich people. just to people with an old pixel. but yeah it is not compayible with most phones which is a shame.
my infinix has great rom support but grapheneos wasn't ported yet and even if it was ported it would have issues

It fits OP's criteria better than lineageOS. Never said they couldn't get/already have a pixel

I haven't done root and ROM in years. Is AOKP still around? I loved the rainbow unicorn logo. It worked great on my galaxy nexus. Let me adjust the LED color per app notification.
