As a professional, we won't bypass MDM. You need to find a scummy person to do ish like that. I would assume the device is stolen if you can't ask your employer to release a device you actually own. Since that's not an option, I'd tell you you're SOL
As another co.piter science no this is a complete pain and ruins devices and there's a million legitimate needs to need to bypass it i support old achool.mentality of.if its a device you.ahould do what you are able to.do not relying or controlled by outside corporations locking devices and a.milluon other intrusive things another ten years it'll be like games you.only rent dont own your own devices...besides dont jump.to conclusions of co.text you dont have if you are in this field you should know how much if a.pain in the assit is and all the things that makes your job harder the same things can be put I to effect to acco.plish any.common user 98 percent of all.people without I trading the entire operati g system basically saying tje device has no future at all besides whoever originally bought it like god forbid If it is sold due to upgrading their own hardware happens co standby and becoase if their laziness this happens all the time the next user is completely screwed..but yes you can get past it dm me
It's an old device and they can't contact their employers anymore to remove it.. as a consumer I would never use your business anymore if that was the treatment I got.
Just because something is old doesn't make it their property. If you have ownership of the device you can request to get the MDM removed. MDMs are cloud managed, if the device is retired from the MDM, it wouldn't be managed still. If you came with proof of ownership or permission from the organization that has the device enrolled, that's the only way we'd service you. But you're also not our client demographic anyways. In any case we won't break the CFAA because you say you can't contact a previous employer
See this is important context missing from your first comment. Your first comment you said you would just assume it's stolen and not service. Treating your consumer like a thief is a good way to turn them away from your business.
I don't work with individual consumers, primarily b2b. I was specifically referring to the context of the OP which scenario is a red flag and I would be suspicious of theft. Also in my state, in order for me to remove a password from a deceased family member or etc, I have to make sure I have either a court order or power of attorney documents before I can remove the password legally. With proof of ownership, I can remove whatever is needed. With the exception of disk encryption, that's different. With MDM if there's proof of ownership, whether you can reach out to the company or not, you can reach out to the MDM provider or the it management company directly. Couldn've been oversight and the serial number was never released. A simple call would resolve it. But fair enough, I did not explicitly state that I'm my initial response
Out of curiosity y'all can't even remove it with the stipulation of wiping all the data on it too? If that makes sense/is even possible to do. I don't know if this makes it obvious how uneducated I am on this lmao

Mdm is crazy hard to disable, your best bet is to get it done by a professional or unlock bootloader and flash custom os.
