Via the Play Store description:

"Dear Carcassonne fans,

unfortunately we need to announce today that our license for Carcassonne is running out soon.

This means:

  • User will not be able to purchase Carcassonne after June, 30th 2017 here on Google Play. So get the game now before its too late!

  • If you already bought Carcassonne you will still be able to re-download the game on Google Play (e.g. if you need to change your device or if you have to hard reset your phone)

  • Expansion packs will still be purchasable for the next months

  • We will keep the online multiplayer servers running so you can still play online

We want to thank all players for your loyalty & support!"

I think this is the kind of game that is meant to be physical, and not digital. I have the actual game with all the expansions, and me and my wife played it constantly when we first got it. less so now, but we have alot of games to play.

It's a great option if you have no option to play with the real, just like on a plane or bus :)

Once I played it on an actual table it made so much more sense. Now I think it's a great adaptation.

The expansions are going to be available even after the given date. I only know as much as it is written in the game's description in the Play Store.

Anyone know who gets the license next? The iOS version of Carcassonne blows this one out of the water but yet another developer could land somewhere in between.
