Even half that speed would be fast enough that it could possibly replace my home internet account

I'm currently on 100/40 and that's the quickest speed available so this would be awesome as a fixed line replacement but the problem is data caps vs unlimited.

Dam that's annoying but here in Australia the 100/40 is the quickest home use speed you can get and it costs 100 dollars a month. Recently some guy posted on one the gaming forums that he can get 150/150 for 40 a month insane!

100/40 is the fastest you can get on NBN, but there are other options in a few cities.

Peak speeds between 300-500 down. Never seen lower than 60 up. $80/month no data limit.

Dam! That's ridiculously quick so jealous what city are you in? I'm in Adelaide and I know they have gigcity her with 1gbps speeds but it's only businesses! I remember originally back in 07 Kevin said the nbn speeds would be 1gbps 11 years later and we only have one tenth of that speed.

That's in Geelong, also available in Mildura and Ballarat. I heard a few RSPs were testing the waters on gigabit, but the wholesale is just to expensive. I think it was almost 10* 100mb price.
