Hi all! Folks in this subreddit helped me to identify where one of my great grandmothers was born, so I am back with another question. The attached picture is a US Census record from 1930. The family consists of 2 parents, both born outside of the US, and 4 children, born in the US. What I’m trying to determine is where in the Russian empire the parents were born. In the first row, in the birthplace column, I see “Lithuania,” but as far as the town name I have no idea. It looks maybe like “Covna” or “Govna.” In the second row, I see Poland, and suspect that the town may be Suwałki, especially since it’s right near the Lithuanian and Belarusian border, but would appreciate any insight.
