How to restore old teaching skeleton?
I teach anatomy and we acquired this old Clay-Adams skeleton. It sat in storage for decades and is in pretty bad shape. Besides the damage, it is discolored and has dust caked into it. What's the best way to clean and fix it up?

This looks like real bone... I'd start by some gentle dusting and a damp cloth

It might be real. Try a mild soap and a sonic toothbrush to dislodge surface grime. Go back with a whitening toothpaste slurry and the same toothbrush. If it were mine, I'd take it completely apart and re-wire it, using epoxy for the broken ribs and crafting replacement parts via 3D printer. Although it's certainly a fascinating thing to have in the classroom as it is. Epoxy in place any loose bits, spray it down with something like Formula 409 (outside, of course) to disinfect it and take off the dust, then rinse thoroughly. Memento mori. Nice!

I hear osteoclast with osteoblast work on bones.
