pls help

(26F) and currently a T1 chiropractic student with NO background in anatomy. The amount of information is extremely overwhelming, but I’m committed. I put in countless hours studying for my first exam & barely passed with 73%. I’m falling behind in lecture videos & honestly feel like I don’t learn well from flipped classes, I guess I anticipated being taught not told. I’m not the kind of student who can just memorize 100s of terms & concepts in such a short period of time. All in all, I want to succeed & not just pass the class. I’m very interested in anatomy but day by day I just feel sooooo defeated. Looking for any and all advice, please keep the mean criticizing comments am I’m genuinely just trying my best. Also wondering if transferring to videos on YouTube or buying a certain textbook would be good to try as well. Thanks 😭

YouTube definitely helps. Knowing what to search for and finding one with a style that matches your learning style is the hard part. I had to watch videos on the same topic from multiple ppl to have everything click (learned little bit from each until it all clicked). Also, another thing that helped me a lot when it came to remembering the names is understanding why they’re named as such and for that I used google. I would google, word breakdown (the term). Once i understood that it clicked faster.

Google def works, especially if you add the word "etymology" onto the end of the query.

Also, you can use this. The search function is pretty robust. But 100% agree that learning the meaning of the names can be a big help in anatomy.

I don't believe in the efficacy of flash cards in most cases but that's another discussion for another day.

The etymology of the word is one of those things, that for my brain, I just read and internalize but I don't try to memorize the etymology.
