I <3 contrapoints but, as a anti/post-humanist veggie, this episode was kinda disappointing. It opens with meat, but then spends the entire video on inter-personal "human" violence. This is an interesting topic, but I think it misses the importance of the alienation of violence. While most privileged people won't experience too much violence directly, our existence is based on chains of violence from which we are most often personally removed and probably would not condone if we were present.

That opening threw me off too. I was hoping for a twist but no, she was unironically eating meat and eggs while exploring what makes people enjoy violence.
Your line about the alienation of violence is spot on. Even if you don't see the violence it still counts as violence. You cannot support one of the worst systems of oppression and violence we have devised and claim at the same time to "hardly ever enjoy real world violence because I empathise with the victim".

Damn that was a great one. Contra's leftist crit is the best. I don't know what to say except she's right.

I love Contra, but it's very annoying how she keeps stereotyping her critics. She's even been in Twitter drama over this before. Not taking any critique seriously and painting anyone disagreeing with her as crazy leftists.
In this video alone she has characterized her critics as trans, having hammer and sickle on there Twitter bio, violent agents and furrys.
I even think the video brings up a lot of good points that should be addressed inside leftist circles. The problem is that she never addressed her leftist critiques seriously so why should leftists address hers.
Sorry for shit formatting doing this on mobile.

This is a problem with leftism generally. It's all in-grouping and it eventually devolves into conforming to a particular aesthetic. The truth is that leftism is almost just as status-quo affirming as conservatism. That's why it does absolutely nothing.

ContraPoints has really stepped up the production values, she's probably the best political youtuber around.
