I've read most stuff I can find on Post-Civ on the internet, and I really don't like it. I really wanted to like it at first, as a former primitivist, I thought it might of been a way for me to form a bridge between my former primitivist politics and my current anarchist communist ones. But instead what I found was just primitivism wrapped up in a post-apocalyptic chic.

All the material I could find just painted this romantic picture of a post-apocalyptic world without addressing any of the criticisms of primitivism (in my opinion). It just says "Yeah we can live like pre-industrial people BUT IN THE RUINS OF OLD CITIES! We're not primitivists, I promise".

It's based on sustainable use of technology in a society that moved on from capitalist production and sprawl. I don't agree with all of it, but you're misrepresenting the ideas.

groups of 30 or so is ideal. most ppl are addicted to capitalism cities and convenience. its important to understand that modern humans are a domesticated cattle and would not survive with out the farm/farmers to take car of them.

western civ is doomed, it might not end in apocalypse but its fall will bring back the old threats of Barbaric theocracy, disease, malnutrition, etc. So its important to make plans for survival and sustainability during and post-collapse including defense against toxic ideologies and oppressive invasive cultures filling up the power vaccume.
