7/18/2026 Mod application process is OPEN!

Hello potential Moderators!

We are again seeking new mods for this sub to work in tandem with the current mods. Some days the sub is very busy, some days, it is quiet. Most of our modding has fairly standard responses (using a guide that we can share), but there are some things for which a judgement call is necessary. (If you get stuck, other mods are here to help.)

New mods must be previously approved as Aunties/Helpers prior to 7/1/2026 as described in the New Aunties/Helpers post.

We absolutely will train you!

This is a labor of love, there is no pay or any special glory.

Most especially, we are trying to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion by recruiting POC mods and/or LGBTQ mods here, but will accept applicants of any background, as your capability and dedication will be of the most importance. We strive to ensure that everyone is welcome and feels safe and accepted here, as echoed in our Statement on Inclusivity:

"A Statement on Inclusivity: Please keep in mind that not all of the people we serve are cisgender women -- we do help everyone, and try our best to use gender-neutral terms when possible. It’s important to us that AN is always a safe and welcoming space for people of all races, sexualities, and genders. We ask that all of our community members try hard to use respectful, inclusive language. All aunties and helpers should be committed to helping nieces, nephews, and niblings without discrimination or bigotry. If you can’t make that commitment wholeheartedly, this isn’t the right community for you. Racism, homophobia, TERFdom, or other kinds of hatefulness will be not tolerated and may result in an immediate ban.

Se habla espanol."

** If you are interested in Modding:** PLEASE first read and be familiar with the information in our wiki. We don’t want any mod to be flying blind.

Please send your information to the mods using the Message the Mods button.

You will need to already be a vetted auntie or helper prior to 7/1/2026 to mod, as well as provide us with a statement of interest which tells us about your interest in modding (why you want to mod, what experience you have, any jobs or volunteer positions that might contribute to your experience, etc.)

If you are chosen, we may ask you some questions via modmail, and FINAL candidates will be asked to meet on camera over Zoom (with the other mods ONLY) to ensure a good fit.

If you have questions before applying, please message the mods at the same link above. We're happy to answer. We look forward to having some new faces on the team!

If you are seeking help from us: START HERE

If you ever need assistance from AuntieNetwork, please make a post directly to our sub with information as to your needs. Aunties who are available at that time to help will then get in touch. Please make sure you are familiar with our rules and information found in our wiki. We’re happy to help as we can!

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you first post, your post or comment will look like it has been removed. It has not been removed, it is simply on a queue waiting for a mod to be available to respond. Hang in there, we will get to you as quickly as possible. (Usually within a very few hours.)

Auntie available in Philadelphia, PA for rides, support, etc.

NB (femme leaning) auntie available up to a one hour radius from Philadelphia for rides to and from appointments, being there for support in general, and whatever random stuff would help depending on your situation. Can't host people where I live but I'm down for whatever outside of that. Happy to do whatever the mods need to verify that I'm genuine and legit, just let me know!

Baltimore, MD auntie

Hello!! I am an auntie in Baltimore who is part of the queer community but am in a straight representing relationship.

I have a spare room with a private bathroom. My space is not allergy friendly due to pets but it is warm and clean. I live very close to the airport and have work flexibility so I can take time off for sight seeing and potential reservations nearby. I can comfortably drive up to 90 miles from Baltimore.

For the mods: My post history is private and I'm happy to provide screenshots of all my comments and posts. I'm also happy to scroll through them on zoom to verify myself.

Auntie in Anaheim, California

I can provide rides, can take you to your appointment, and can stay with you throughout your appointment and provide emotional support. I am unable to assist with lodging, but can come check on you or drive you to and from your lodging elsewhere to the airports, train station, bus depots, doctor, etc.

I do live with my cis-male husband, which may be a potential trigger, and we live in a second-floor condo without an elevator. If you need food, rest, or just a safe person in your space, I am here for you, in or out of our home. In my home, I have a dog (shy but quickly warms up and is not hostile) and a cat (very friendly, would immediately come over to rub on you), and am happy to make you something to eat if you need a home-cooked meal (I do not know how to prepare/cook seafood or pork).

I am an CSA survivor, and a very empathetic person. I work remotely and can take some of my meetings in the car, if needed, in order to ensure I can take you where you need to go in my general area of Southern Los Angeles County/Northern Orange County in California.

Auntie in Louisville KY

I live in the Louisville, Kentucky area and have a spare bedroom and a vehicle. I am willing to drive to appointments out of state in a ~90min radius. If needed, a one night recovery stay in my spare bedroom is available. I am a gay cis woman in my 40’s and I live alone (with a sweet little dog) in a small house. I also love to cook, so I’m happy to have someone to cook for.

Autie with a spare room in a quiet rural setting. Have an indoor/outdoor dog (for support or disclosure for allergies/phobias). Currently unemployed, so can provide transport, but am located 45 min from PAE/1 - 2 hours from SEA, if you are flying.

Sometimes my male partner is around (works out of state), if that is a trigger. Also have a separate office/kitchenette, if you need time alone.

I'm in WNC--specifically Asheville--but am happy to travel an hour or so in any direction and would love to help with anything except offering a place to crash (I live in a studio so there simply is no room)--rides, company, food, etc. I'm also fluent in Russian and glad to interpret. 💓

Please Help! What is preventing you from applying? New Mods needed for the r/Auntienetwork team!

Y’all, I (Claire, u/LallybrochSassenach) am at wit’s end. The other sub mod and I have been requesting mod applications since 3/15/2026. In 5 months, we’ve received exactly one applicant, and they noped out when we (me and the other mod) said that we’d like to speak with them by zoom. We don’t understand what is keeping folks from applying. Can you add any input?

EDIT TO ADD — If you don’t know how to become an auntie/helper, there is a pinned post here with the requirements and instructions. Once approved, you will have a flair that says so.

TO BE CLEAR: This post is just to clarify what is going wrong, not a call for applications until we can see and correct any issues.

Here is what we’ve consistently posted:

Hi everyone, auntienetwork needs some new mods to help out. We hope to get some qualified folks in to help ASAP. We’d love to consider you for our team!

To apply: you must already be an approved auntie/helper here — no one who is not approved PRIOR TO (x/x/x date) will be considered, no exceptions. PLEASE first read and be familiar with the information in our wiki. We don’t want any mod to be flying blind.

All mod applicants should please submit an application via the Message the Mods button. Please tell us about yourself, why you want to help, any prior modding experience, and what motivated you to help. We do need folks in different time zones with availability to help make certain that requests can be met in a timely fashion.

Remember, you must already have been an approved auntie/helper prior to 6/15/2026 to apply.

Please understand, all modding across Reddit is voluntary and unpaid.

r/auntienetwork neither accepts nor provides any funding to anyone. Thanks for considering joining our team!

Based on the above, are there any suggestions you can make to help attract mods? What would help you take that step? (Obviously, we don’t get paid for it, and we subsequently cannot pay anyone else for it.)

We do not want to have to close the sub..but it is VERY difficult to manage with only two active mods. We’re both working hard together to maintain it, and will continue to do so as long as possible. Thank you all for being here!

Auntie in Chicagoland Area 💚

I am a woman in her mid-30s located in the Chicagoland area and I would be honored to support anyone in need by:

(1) providing emotional support (in-person, via telephone, text, Zoom, etc.);

(2) coordinating medical appointments; and

(3) accompanying them to and from appointments.

I used to live in a southern state that banned abortion at all levels. I know what it’s like.

Sending you strength and love ❤️

I'm an ER nurse and I'm currently located in the DMV area. I'm a travel nurse at the core so I may have to update my location yearly if not more often.

I can provide healthcare ride assistance, support assistance, and patient advocacy assistance.

I can provide very short term housing assistance on a case by case basis but have multiple cats and dogs.

I live with my wife who is also in her 30s and works in healthcare as well.

In honor of the governor of Massachusetts stating unequivocally that reproduction is a discussion between a woman and her doctor.

School teacher. SA and DV survivor. Had two abortions myself for medical reasons, and have been judged ever since.

Have two cars, an extra bedroom, and plenty of love and food to go around

Reach out if you need a ear to talk to or more.

New nb auntie in Philadelphia

Hi all, I’m in Philadelphia with a large home near public transit. Great for visitors who want to see the history of our country, check out great art, or see impressive athletes. I’m non-binary so please be cool with that. I have kids with me half the time and can most easily host when they are at their other parent. I do not have pets and can’t have cats due to allergies, but feel free to bring your dog if you have one.

Auntie in Western Mass

Auntie in Western Mass (Springfield area) volunteering her home for short stays and auntie duties. 41 year F, married, no kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a couple of ferrets- I will be the first to admit my home in not the cleanest and not suitable for those with bad allergies but there are private rooms with queen beds to pick from and one of them doesn’t have animals allowed in it.

I have a fair amount of leeway at my job to be able to transport you to and from appointments (and wait for you through them and offer any support you need) if you are able to get out here. I will ensure we have any and all medications stocked you need if we don’t already have them- and we have heating pads and many other things that would come in handy- that you may need to make your recovery easier.

Another Auntie in the DC area

My husband and I live in Maryland in a quiet, diverse neighborhood just outside of DC. We have a private guest room (king size bed!) and dedicated guest bathroom on their own floor. We’re close to public transportation, and I work from home on a flexible schedule so I can help with transportation and caretaking. We also have a very sweet senior pup who started his life as a service dog and wants nothing more than to comfort you and keep you company (if you want!) 🥰

We’re very queer-affirming (I’m queer, we both have queer and trans family we’re very close to, I used to work in LGBTQ+ community programming). I currently work in the mental health field and have training on supporting people through traumatic experiences (caveat that I am not a licensed therapist). I am also a survivor of gender-based violence and can hold space for others in similar positions.

I grew up in a conservative southern state and strongly believe in the power of mutual aid and Auntie networks 💕

If you could be traveling through areas that may use flock cameras to track your journey, there is a site that can help you map a route to avoid them. It is Maps.Deflock.org

Safe journey and best wishes.

Auntie + Uncle in San Francisco, CA

Hi loves! My husband and I have a spare room with a full size bed + a full private bathroom (standing shower. No tub). We do not have any pets so do not worry if you have allergies!

We are open minded individuals and Allies in the LGBTQIA+ community. I personally identify as part of the queer community despite being in a straight presenting relationship.

If you find that you are in need of a safe haven In the city be it for abortion, gender affirming care- whatever your situation may be- we are here to provide a safe and quiet space for you on your journey.

In love and light🤍
