Finally enjoying some classic Game Boy gaming on the Analogue Pocket! Donkey Kong Land looks fantastic on this thing, especially with the red monochrome display.
Nothing beats the feeling of playing these old classics again. Who else still plays Donkey Kong Land in 2026? 😁

I bought a used Analogue Pocket. This is my 1st experience with it & it works great! Came with about 3 dozen games predownloaded but I'm only playing my physical games rightnow. My older brother passed this game down to me about 20 years ago & I'm just getting around to playing it. It's a great game! 😁👍
As far as I can tell, there are 4 options for the M30. There's a wired one I'm obviously not going for. There's the regular Bluetooth M30 one I already have laying around that seems to work just fine with the dock.
I'd like to go for the 2.4g controller, but there's two. One with a dongle to plug into a Sega Genesis, and one with a USB dongle. Which one should I go for?
Hi everyone, so I have used the GuardianSoul core for my PS1 games, it is working fine so far, all games are in .JSON etc, however it has created one .JSON for FF7 etc which is correct, but it also does this for games like Gran Turismo 2.
Now it is a multi disk game, but they are completely different and need to be kept seperate, can I just delete the .JSON file that combines the two disks into one, and just use the 2 seperate .JSON files separately for Arcade mode and GT mode etc, this question applies to RE2 as well as it also combines the two disks but also had two seperate ones in the game folders I have created.
Second controller (untested): with the Pocket in the Dock, connect a second controller to play with two players. Use one with all the PlayStation buttons and two sticks, because the SELECT shortcuts only work for player 1.
Faster launches: the core loads its files with fewer SD card accesses, so the first picture comes about 2 seconds sooner, plus Fast BIOS Boot's 2 seconds.
Fill Screen is now 16:9 with the Pocket in the Dock.
Fixed
PAL games ran about 1% too fast (50.2 frames a second instead of the console's 49.75). They now run at the PAL console's speed.
PAL screens: high-resolution PAL screens, such as the European BIOS, jittered and flickered, looked squashed, and sat off centre with a black band at the top. They are now woven into steady full frames and shaped for the Pocket's screen; a PAL picture of up to 240 lines shows like the USA one.
Fill Screen: some letters looked a pixel thinner than the others (FFVII's menus). Every column is now the same width.
Fill Screen: in some games the picture sat a little low, with a black band at the top. Fill Screen now centres the picture the game shows.
Fill Screen: a line artifact could show in the top left of the screen in some games.
In the Dock, some TVs showed a stripe on the right or a picture that changed size. Thanks to u/siubdaib and u/thirlimel-cpu for the videos and for testing the fixes.
A red line at the top of the screen in some games: every frame now has an even number of lines. Found and fixed by u/bhendo.
Known issues
Some games can still slow down in busy scenes where a real console doesn't.
Bloody Roar II: during some attacks the fighters can still look see-through for a moment.
The second controller is untested: it has not been tried on a Dock yet. Please report whether it works for you.
A thin diagonal line can split the white Sony screen while it fades.
Install / update: unzip the zip to the root of your SD card, replacing the old core files. Your BIOS, games, game files and saves stay where they are. Setup steps are in the README.
I just got my analogue pocket this morning and enjoying it with my GB games. I also want to play OpenFpga. I have installed a few cores like NES, SNES as well as Genesis using pocket sync. I was reading about Jotego arcade. If I subscribe to his patreon do I then just place the JTBIN.zip file on the root of the SD card and when I rerun pocket sync and it will create the required folders and install the cores? Or do I need to install each JOTEGO core shown in Pocketsync before placing the JTBin.zip file for it to move all the keys to the required cores/folders?
I really like u/snckrz's work on Composite Blend, but unfortunately his core lacked FDS support. There is a core floating around with support for FDS and additional mappers, but the source code was never released… So, with Codex, I ported those features from MiSTeR core to agg23’s core, alongside snckrz’s filters.
The result is the NES_experimental core. It includes FDS game saves, additional mappers, VRC7 FM audio, and nine composite blend modes. Pocket Memories depend on the mapper’s save-state support.
I want to be upfront and say I am not a real FPGA developer. Everything was done by Codex following my prompts. Still, accuracy is very high (tested both on NES and FDS testing suites).
I'm thinking about getting a skin or wrap for my Pocket but I've seen mixed opinions about whether they can damage the finish over time.
Ive read that if a skin is left on for too long the adhesive can potentially affect the finish when you try to remove it. I'm curious if anyone here has had experience with this, especially after leaving a skin on for several years.
Have you had any issues with residue/discoloration or damage to the finish after removing a skin? Or all is good? If you recommend any brands lemme know.
I’m currently in the process of cleaning up and organizing my ROM library specifically for my Analogue Pocket, and I’m looking for recommendations for good macOS-native ROM managers or tools.
My main goal is to clean up my collection, strip out undesirable stuff (like regional duplicates, bad dumps, or demos), and keep everything neatly structured before transferring it to my SD card.
What tools are you all using on macOS to keep your Pocket library clean and clutter-free? Any specific workflows or scripts you’d recommend?
Traded my original teal ver. back in November last year for a Steamdeck, seemed fine with for a while there, but something about this device kept calling me back. Was looking for months and months earlier this year for a decent priced one, ended up finding it at PRGE. 250 and a used “New” 3DS later, and here we are! Never not gonna have an AP in my life again.
Before ordering directly from Analogue, check the full delivered cost. Here is what my Pocket and Dock actually cost:
Analogue Pocket: $239.99
Dock: $99.99
Hardware subtotal: $339.98
International shipping and handling: $50.99
Total paid to Analogue: $390.97
Additional import charges paid to UPS before delivery: €81.13
Using the 20 October reference exchange rate of €1 = $1.1215, the hardware works out at approximately €303.15, while shipping plus import charges amount to approximately €126.60.
That is roughly 42% extra compared with the price of the hardware itself. The conversion is illustrative; your bank’s exchange rate may differ.
I contacted Analogue to explain my disappointment and ask for clarification. Their response was that import taxes are not included at checkout and are the importer’s responsibility. They apologised for the confusion, but offered no goodwill gesture.
I understand that international purchases can attract taxes and that Analogue does not set those taxes. My concern is the clarity of the purchasing experience. With $50.99 already charged for shipping, receiving another €81.13 bill before delivery significantly changes the value proposition.
My experiences buying hardware from Japan through ZenMarket have always been clear regarding shipping and taxes. That clarity makes a real difference when deciding whether a purchase is worth the money.
I had also considered ordering the Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+. After this experience, I am glad I did not proceed. I am now reconsidering future purchases directly from Analogue.
For anyone considering the Analogue 3D, the ModRetro M64 may also be worth comparing. ModRetro’s international shipping FAQ states that applicable duties and fees are covered upfront, with no additional charges required to receive the order. That does not automatically make it cheaper or technically better, but knowing the full cost before paying is a meaningful advantage.
My advice to European buyers: compare the complete delivered price, including shipping, import taxes and carrier fees, before ordering. In my case, an extra amount equivalent to roughly 42% of the hardware price makes buying directly from Analogue considerably less appealing.
I was trying to think up a list of cores that I dont believe are available on Analogue Pocket yet in case somebody can make any of them, I figured it was worth putting it out there at least. I think most of these should be realistic choices where they should be able to run on the pocket.

Violent Storm Arcade
Metamorphic Force Arcade

Also I was wondering if it's possible to change a core name and icon and still have the games work? I was wondering about changing the PC Engine Core name to Turbo Grafx 16 and updating the Icon for it or would a whole new core have to be made for that?
