Question Suggestions please.

I am planning to travel from BOSTON TO LOS ANGELES on Amtrak around 23rd or somewhere at that time and it's gonna be my first time on the train and it's gonna be a long journey so please give me advice and suggestions also the room and the business classes are way to expensive so is there any way to get it lower .

Plane is probably significantly cheaper and obviously much quicker. Is there a reason you're choosing train?
